I’d have to start by saying that going to the Internet to meet people is not exactly a comfort zone for me. If you get to know me, you may find that statement to be somewhat in conflict with who I am. Here’s a start on the getting to know me part… I am the proud father of two brilliant boys. I’m not just saying that, they are, quite literally geniuses that push me to think, investigate, solve and challenge them. I wouldn’t want it any other way; they make me see things differently.
I love my job; every day is something new to learn. Sure there days I want to win the lottery so I can quit…but who doesn’t have that thought at least once a month?
Outside of work, I like watch the Rockies in the summer and Avalanche in the winter. To be honest, I know next to nothing about baseball and even less about hockey. (I work in IT, which should explain that) I enjoy going to the pool, museum, zoo, and even roller-skating. Hold on to your chair, I like going to the mall…especially if it has an Apple Store. I love to spend time with family, game nights, BBQ and sometimes just hanging out. I am a big fan of going to the movies, but only for good movies! IMAX is awesome and 3D is even better.
So what am I looking for? It may sound sappy, I want to think about you and smile. You appreciate getting flowers for no particular reason. You send flowers for no particular reason. You like to go out to dinner every now and then, but are happy to snuggle on the couch and watch TV with a bowl of microwave popcorn. You know the difference between Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. You surprise me with things to do on the weekend and pretend to enjoy my plans and later tactfully tell when they were a bad idea. You are independent, but know when to be sensitive. You know that sometimes guys just need to talk and sometimes we just need to be punched on the shoulder. You have a finely honed sense of sarcasm and can appreciate dry humor. You think my geekiness is cute. Someday, you want to ride in a hot air balloon. You are completely okay with getting in the car and taking the long way to go somewhere. Getting lost is always an option.
What have past relationships taught me? Laughter keeps things healthy. Space is important but leads to emptiness if it goes on too long. Talking for hours about hopes and dreams can tell you a lot about someone. Politics are like a religion, especially when you don’t agree. Knowing each other’s family is important. Sometimes what isn’t said is far more important that what is.
