Date someone special from Colorado, United States. [UPDATE: I'm leaving Colorado for Abu Dhabi end of May 2012 ]
I am often outgoing, occasionally hilarious and always intellectually curious. You are normally smart, usually sporty and frequently hysterical. While we may not always complete each other's sentences, we are likely to punctuate them!
My "ideal match" (note the air quotes) is confident but measured and laid back; witty and goofy but passionate and serious; spontaneous but reasoned; someone who likes to jump around and get sweaty but also enjoys lounging around the house on a cold day with a warm fire, and a big, lazy dog. Bonus points if you're unafraid to swear on occasion or dance like nobody's watching.
After a healthy stint living the mountain-town dream, I moved down to the Front Range to thaw out and go to grad school. After successful completion of both of those tasks I realized that I like not shoveling snow in June and haven't left. I've lived in Colorado for the better part of 17 years but I'm still a New Englander at heart.
In addition to the classic (cliche?) Colorado outdoorsy pursuits so many of us love (particularly skiing, mountain biking, camping, hiking, running) I also enjoy growing food and cooking it, seeing live music, listening to NPR, drinking good coffee, big red wines and hoppy local beers.
Other random things I like: Scrabble, Seinfeld, growing vegetables, maps, skiing, surfing, imitating foreign accents, bluebird skies and fresh snow, talking politics, fish tacos, golf, disc golf and a good stretch.
Things I like but would like to get better at: baking, remembering jokes, tying knots, taking good photos in low light, quieting my mind, saying no.
I value the chance to teach and be taught. I consider myself an enthusiastic learner and would like to spend time with someone who shares that same enthusiasm for discovery.
There's so much more but what fun is it if I give away all of it right now? If any of what I did say resonates with you, drop me an email and say hello. I'd love to hear from you!
