Meet men and women from United States. Up until a year ago, I had been in a self-imposed dating cocoon. I was risking everything I had to build a business I had dreamed of for a long time. Talk about bad timing. I still have the business, but stopped putting in money. That allowed me to stabilize my economic situation at a comfortable, if not luxurious, level. So it seemed like a good time to emerge from my cocoon and try my wings.
Update! I changed my drinking from heavy to social. Actually, I stopped drinking at the end of Sept 2011. I am not adverse to drinking or people who drink. I am just not interested at the present time.
Here’s a little about me.
The Good: Happy, healthy, and fit. Young at heart and spirit. Loving Dad, Son and Brother. A retired Naval Officer to whom Integrity, Honor and Fidelity are life guiding principles. Good, but dry sense of humor. Dances like no one is watching when Classic rock is playing (my Lady friends tell me they enjoy dancing with me). Good in groups, better one-on-one. Many good friends and a loving family. PLEASE STEAL MY HEART AND NEVER GIVE IT BACK!
The OK: Enjoys playing Golf, just never been any good. Needs alone time occasionally. Drawn to water; the bay, the delta, lakes, rivers, etc. Lived on a large boat for the past 16 years. Would live aboard again at the drop of a hat. Evolved simpler tastes after 22 years of chasing and acquiring the American dream. Obviously a dreamer and a romantic.

I have been to many places and done many things in my travels. I have dined in some of the world's finest resturants, had a complete dress wardrobe tailored for me in Hong Kong, owned beautiful homes with elegant furnishings. The point being, I appreciate fine things, I just no longer crave them.
Today, I realize that among the finer things in my life include many evenings on the bay watching the sunset over the Golden Gate; hiking the redwoods with my baby daughter on my chest in a snugglie; teaching my little kids how to fish on the shore of Lake Chabot; watching my grown kids happily interact with their significant others ... ah LOVE!
