After departing the service in 1980, I started a new career with the US Treasury. Retired at age 55 and now work when I want, but I do not have to ever work again, but can't just sit around on my a--..Ha I now love doing all of the things that Colorado has to offer and enjoy every moment of it. I am always easy going, understanding and I guess you could say that I'm old School when it comes to Women. I was brought up respecting all Women and don't have any problem with holding hands, opening the door, showing affection in public, in fact I guess I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. . Well ladies, these are hard times and not in the sense that ya'll like....
Since the economy has tanked, my life has slowed down considerably... Not stressing about it alot, though.. Let's just say, I'm not going on any major hollidays for awhile..
having said that, about me personally...
I'm quiet( probably listen more than I talk) , honest ( if I have something to say) , respected ( in my community) , and loved ( by some wayward souls).... Wouldn't call myself a hermit, but damn sure not a social butterfly either!!
Enjoy riding my bike in the summer and sliding out to the desert for a bit in the winter... Like my home and the rural area where I live
( will trip to the city, but will not live there ) I have a couple of chickens and a horse, a greenhouse, hot springs and my work pretty
much right where I live....So, life is diffently okay--- just not too exciting
Looking for----- a parttime companion, to start and we'll go from there...

My friends say that I am just a "nice guy". I have a very outgoing personality - I haven't met a stranger yet. Does this sound like a salesperson? I have an optimistic attitude. I've been president of the local Optimist Club twice. Yes, ladies, there really is an Optimist Club.
I am looking for someone who also has a positive attitude towards life. Someone who will jump in a pickup with a 5th Wheel travel trailer behind it and travel to the Colorado mountains, Wyoming, Montana, Canada or wherever and enjoy the sights and experiences. Someone who will fly to San Francisco for a long weekend and tour the Napa/Sonoma wineries. Someone who will go for bike rides with me. Someone I can drag along to sporting events and will drag me to plays, concerts, etc. (I really don't mind going to these).

I enjoy being active - camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking, golfing, biking, and skiing. I also can enjoy a quiet evening at home cuddling and watching a movie or sitting in front of the fireplace with a bottle of wine. I love sitting on my deck with a cold beer on a warm summer evening.
Water is not my strong suit. I can't water ski - people really get a kick out of watching me try to get out of the water. I tried scuba diving and believe that if God wanted us to be underwater, he would have given us gills. I enjoy being at the beach, but prefer to relax and watch the day go by. I do have a canoe that I like to get out on the water and fish from.
I like sports, but I am not a sports fanatic. I like watching a Bronco or CSU football game - GO RAMS! I enjoy a Rockies game every once in a while or spending an evening at the Colorado Eagles hockey game. I am not into health clubs. Tried it a couple of times, but too boring. I would much rather be doing something active-walking, hiking, skiing, whatever.
I am handy to have around the house. I can build or fix almost anything.
I love holding hands, long kisses, soft, warm touches. I will send you flowers just because. I won't forget your birthday or other special occasions. Hugs can really make a difference. Had a rough day? How about a massage?
By the way, if you hang out in the grocery store, can you at least let me know in what store and section I should be looking in.

. I'm a "young" 58 year old Colorado native who loves to get out and enjoy what this state has to offer. I'll often grab a fly rod, snowshoes, or my trekking poles and enjoy the solitude Colorado still has to offer.
My glass is usually more than half full and I can find good in nearly everything. I find humor in the oddest places and can always laugh at myself. I feel I'm kind, loyal, compassionate, forgiving, open minded, and sometimes want to help too much. I don't sweat the small stuff. I truly value my friends and family (especially my 1 year old granddaughter!). I'm enjoying my life more than ever!
I like to cook... know my way around the kitchen and often end up hosting impromptu get-togethers at my place. I haven't had a good yard for gardening or a dog for a few years – kind of miss both, but love the freedom of townhouse living... just lock and leave!
Other than the occasional movie, I watch very little television and will admit I'm a bit of a "bandwagon" sports fan. I have rather eclectic tastes in music - classical, jazz, blues, folk, traditional, rock, indie, some country... those are a few of my favorite things.
Of course, I'm not asking for much... just a sweet woman who's happy with who she is and excited about the future. Someone willing to honestly say what she is thinking or feeling, who's open-minded and fun-loving. A good sense of humor is a must - life is too short for glum!
