Where should I start? I was born outside the United States but moved to California at an early age because my father served for over 40 years with the US Navy. We were lucky in a sense that we didn't move at all and all 3 brothers and 3 sisters went to the same schools until we went to college.I went to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the early 90's and had a great college experience. I still keep in touch with some of my friends from college. After graduating, I wanted to serve my country and enlist in the US military but for one reason or another, it never worked out. I've come to terms with it but have the most respect for my fellow Americans that do serve.My current job working in the travel industry allows me to do just that, travel and experience different cultures around the world. I would love to find someone I can experience the wonders of being educated not from books but traveling and experiencing it. Is this you?I tend to work out 5 days a week if I can but most of the time, it's no more than an hour a session unless I'm playing pickup basketball or volleyball. I try to do a half marathon and either a Sprint or Olympic Triathlon every season but lately, I think my age and wear and tear over the years is catching up to me. That is why I am back into taking salsa lessons. It's a blast. I am meeting a lot of cool people who want to have fun. So if you are interested in learning to salsa dance, let me know. Another recent photo is of me holding my skis at Vail this winter. People are surprised when I am tell them my age; they say I look younger. I know you're saying "whatever". I'll make you a deal. She visited me when I was teaching in Ecuador.) Who am I? I am an easy-going guy who doesn't take things too seriously. I am active and athletic. I play in a hockey and a baseball men's league. I can make friends with about anybody, as long as they are not arrogant and shallow. Why haven't I been married? Long story short: Due to an unhealthy school (mold) I was teaching in in Texas, I was sick in my early 30s. I realized that I had to live in a dry place. So here I am in Denver. Best decision I made. I have a nice job that pays well, I have relatives here and friends (another good thing about playing on team sports), and now I just bought a nice house in the Lakewood area. I just need to find a cool, down-to earth lady. I am not looking for a barbie doll, but an intelligent lady who can tell me off one moment and the next be affectionate, realizing that arguing all the time is a waste (a few discussions in between is very normal and healthy) I would like for her to be mature and responsible, but she can also be silly and a little neurotic. It's what makes us unique. She doesn't have to be a sports freak, but she does need to respect that playing sports is part of my life, and it is one of the things that makes me happy. (I play only once a week.)
Growing up in the inner city with friends of different ethnic backgrounds, I have a true liking for all skin colors. That being said, I won't date a woman with a sassy, ghetto mouth- a little attitude is a turn on. On the flip side, I can't stand a richy, materialistic woman. So I am stuck in the middle-just a cool, down -to- earth woman.
I am in that part of my life in which I would like a long term relationship. (This doesn't mean that I am a boring, desperate man. I have a pretty easy going personality, but at the same time I am motivated to continuously grow, personally and professionally. I am well grounded, generous and considerate. Some of my passions are hiking, mtn biking, skiing/boarding, snowshoeing, golf, camping, 4 wheeling, and working out. I also enjoy relaxing with a movie, playing board games, and keeping up with the news. I want to try kayaking at some point and I want to learn to play the guitar. I like to go out for food and drink about once a week. I enjoy fitness, eat well, and take care of my body. I grew up in the midwest, went to college in New York, and went to grad school in Boulder.
