Meet single man from United States. Where do I begin? Do I begin back when I was just a wee lad to give full insight into the conundrum that is me? Or do I start a few years back when I became single and reinvented myself? Hmm, that is a tough call. I guess I'll start somewhere in between and go from there....
I have been single for well over a year now and while I enjoyed it at first, the novelty of the bachelor life is wearing off and just isn't for me. All of my friends constantly tell me how they envy me because I don't have to answer to anybody and how they wish they could have that life. When they say things like that to me, I can't help but just shake my head and tell them that I wish I had their lives. They get to go home to a wife/girlfriend every night, have dinner with their families and have someone to talk to in their times of need - all things that I don't have. I went to a BBQ last week and was the only one their without a girlfriend and that's when it really hit home - I don't want to be single anymore.
When I first became single after being in a relationship for well over a decade, I used to walk down the street and look at couples and think "That poor, poor man. Doesn't he know how nice it is to not be tied down?" or "I don't envy that dude....", but those days have long passed. Now I walk around the grocery store and think of how much I'd like to be there with someone picking out food for dinner or I go to the park with my kids and I'm the only one sitting there on a bench alone. I can't explain it, but going to the park or the grocery store really brings out that empty feeling of not having anyone to share things with.
One thing that helps me pass the time and deal with those feelings of loneliness is playing my guitar. I bought an Ibanez electric guitar a few years back and have been playing it fairly consistently.
I can't really write anything on here that doesn't sound completely cliche and that hasn't been said about a billion times so I figured I'd roll with the truth and see how that goes. I believe in being completely honest I know that what I have written may seem to be a bit depressing, but I think that the things I mentioned above are the most important things that someone on here should know.
Well, there is one more thing that I guess women should know on here - I'm loyal. Loyal almost to a fault. I am one of those guys that even if things in the relationship aren't so great, I will never - and I mean NEVER - stray away. I was raised to believe that if you are in a relationship then you stay in that relationship whether things are good or bad.
One other thing - I look much different than the pictures I have posted on here. Since those pictures were posted I have lost 70 pounds and I am in considerably better shape.
