Meet a boy from United States. When asked to describe myself, the first thing that always comes to mind is music. I play the guitar, and to a much lesser extent the banjo; and I spend a good amount of time playing each day. Its a fantasy of mine to find a girl who is musically inclined who could play with me, but it is by no means a deal breaker. I am currently finishing up my degree in horticulture, and I work in a few of the pathology greenhouses on campus. I was born in Denver, but moved overseas to the Netherlands when I was 14. I've been at CSU since 2008. I've had a great experience here! Tons of great classes, friends, and hijinks. I've been a regular sight at Algiers Hookah & Shisha since day 1, and currently live with one of the employees. I have also become a regular patron at Trailhead and Old C's. One of my favorite things about Fort Collins is the culture: it's open and liberal, but not Boulder-esque. The beer culture here is huge for me. I've loved beer since I was young, and have helped with many a home brewing project since I was 10. My favorite brewery in town is O'Dell's.
In my free time, I enjoy relaxing with friends, smoking hookah, and having a couple of drinks. I can usually be found listening to music or watching a movie. With my busy week - I spend about 65 hours either in class or at work - I don't get too much time to go out during the week, so I spend a lot of time at home hanging out with my room mates and friends. I'm not huge on parties - It's not the crowds, it's the cliques and the bad music. I'm disgusted by what people call "good music" these days. What happened to rock and good hip-hop? My favorite artists are Bad Religion, Reel Big Fish, Nightwish, Hammerfall, The Distillers, Streetlight Manifesto, and Macklemore.
In terms of movies, I love to watch pretty much anything, depending on the mood. I have helped several friends work on small films, some of which have been nominated for small-time rewards. My favorite movies are Blade Runner, The Big Lebowski, Super Troopers, Global Metal, and The is Spinal Tap.
I don't currently have cable, mostly because it's something I've always seen as unnecessary. I love TV, none-the-less, and my favorite shows are Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Game of Thrones, Shameless, Modern Family, and Community.
My family is very important to me. My parents live in Rapid City, SD, where my dad works for the VA. I have three sisters: one living in Denver, one in Chicago, and one going to college in Minnesota. We all try to gather together at least a few times a year to celebrate holidays and life!
In terms of what I'm looking for in a relationship, I want someone who isn't high maintenance or extremely dependent on me all the time. I need to be able to spend time on my own every once in a while. I want someone who I can spend every day with in a week and not get bored, while still being able to spend several days apart without it being a major stress-er. I am looking for someone who is fun - someone who likes to get a little drunk or stoned and have fun every once in a while (but not someone who does it all the time). I'm looking for someone who is just as alright with spending a night in as they are with spending a night out. The most important things I look for in a relationship are respect, communication, and maturity. If I'm dating someone, I'll be there for them as much as I can, but I have to have me-time, too. I would also love to date someone who likes the same types of music I do. I can't deal with the new-pop stuff that every woman I seem to meet likes. It's just noise, and music is too important to me to appreciate it in any way.
