Here's what I dig and what I hope you dig: I enjoy a good Mojito with close friends or a glass of wine with good conversation but I'm not really into getting drunk or frequenting clubs. I also like outdoorsy activities but I don't overdo it or get dropped into the wilderness every weekend. I do like hiking with Burklee (my dog), casual biking, trying to kayak, and snowboarding from time to time. I also enjoy a fun night at home-- takeout and a movie. Any of those activities make for a fine date...
Here's the sensitive part: I'm a compassionate guy, I enjoy reflecting on life, and I value honesty and authenticity more than anything else. I even write in a journal and talk about "relationships" with my friends. I'm a psychology professor.
Here's the less-sensitive part: I follow professional sports, have a loud laugh, and my favorite movies are action flicks and politically-incorrect comedy. I eat red meat and lift weights a few times a week. I love to joke around and get silly.
Also, I get around...but not in that way! I've lived for at least 2 years in Michigan, New Orleans, Rochester (NY), Santa Barbara, Macon (GA), Boston, and now Denver. I've learned along the way that I have a strong preference for a woman with 5 qualities: physically fit, honest/genuine, sensitive, intellectually-curious, and assertive. Yeah, that's a lot but why waste each others time?

My family and friends say I have a good sense of humor and a big heart. I am a musician, so I like to play the guitar and the bass guitar when I have time. I'm a West coast transplant that made my way to Colorado back in 2008. I'm in the wine industry and relocated because of friends and everything beautiful and outdoorsy this state had to offer. The transition hasn't been easy, but I really enjoy what this state has to offer. I enjoy being outside a lot... can't get enough of sports and it's never a dull moment every weekend. There is always something to do.
I'd like to find someone caring and independent. Strong in values and firm in her decisions. A great listener that can tolerate hours of Sportcenter and appreciate the "not so Top 10". I'm active in sports and enjoy sports of all sorts. I like volleyball in the park, long distance rides or hiking. I play tournament level racquetball and just started Hatha Yoga. Different for me as I get older and a little more open minded. I'm not slinging dumbells around like when I was younger and see me being in shape a little differently. It is something my friends are involved in and something I am beginning to enjoy. I love putting on my soccer jersey and sitting in the bar watching the world cup, or following the Tour de France. International is good.
I enjoy wine, beer and spirits. I'm the buyer at work, I'm making selection when I'm out with friends... I never seem to get tired of the history and the craft. I have a ton of useless facts about alcohol history. I'm self educated in the business and study all the time for my future certifications. Favorite varietal: Petit Sirah, Beer type: Porter, Spirit Type: Rye Bourbon (lately). I love how the possibilities are endless. A bottle over dinner at sunset is bliss. Even better when it's shared with good people.
I've spent a long time being at arms length with people, living my life and experiencing. Traveling, sharing and living and learning. I'm still sharing, but looking to let someone in closer, to travel and live with them by my side. Experience what they like, what they love and maybe add that part into my own life. I've always said "good people find good people", just haven't stopped long enough to appreciate.
I'd hope this gal travels and likes concerts. I wish to get to Spain next year... or Piedmonte, Italy. I enjoy their wines and heard their food is equally amazing. I've been through Europe and landed in Greece around the Ionians for a couple weeks. I have Belize on my list as well. PADI certifications are in my future and I can see myself snorkling and scouring barrier reefs.
My heart is wide open with the best intentions. I try my best to be my best. I can be critical of myself sometimes. My friends say I'm a stand up guys and it's better to know me than not to. I'm a strong person. I'd like to walk before I run. I'm looking to spend great times with someone and see where it goes from there.

Random things about me (these are more of a fun way to get to know me anyway right?):
I think Daniel Tosh (Tosh.0) is a genius. You may not always agree with his topics, but you have to admit, he spins them in a way that is hilarious.
I know how to cook pretty well. I love making breakfast or dinner, but rarely have the time, or I'm too hungry to wait. My favorite dish is an orzo noodle, broccoli and chicken dish YUM! Grilling season!! Steak is just plain awesome!!! Feel free to ask me out for a steak :)
I am pretty athletic. I used to play a lot of basketball, could dunk pretty well, but since hurting my knee, that game is no longer as fun. I don't mind any game, as I am pretty competitive....be it cards, board games, bowling, etc. Good thing I've found road cycling as I now compete more with myself than anything else :)
I can make a baby poo by holding them for about 15 seconds....it never fails
Would horns (for honking) on grocery carts be a bad thing? I think not
I've learned that heart rate monitors (for working out) essentially tell me how close to dying I am....maybe I'm not using it right! Is 190 bpm too high?
I've also learned that having someone available to give you a back massage is a blessing.....meaning I don't currently have that someone!!
Summer is for spontaneity....if you'd like to grab a drink on a patio, then let's go. It's just more fun than planning so far in advance. A ball cap and jeans works for me...if you have to get too dressed up on an initial meeting, then we probably won't work anyway.

I'm one of those lucky guys. I love what I do. I work to protect Colorado, and to help get people outdoors to appreciate this great place in America.
That said, I have really focused way too much on my job (and the things that it took for me to get here in the several recent years), and I've neglected having a private life. But, I joined this site to rectify that, and I'm trying to be "out there" by going places and doing things in my private time, so that I can "get a life." I love having fun outdoors, indoors, or wherever I am, and I really want to enjoy my private life with new friends and eventually someone special to me.

I am originally from New Jersey (no, I do not like the Jersey Shore and no, I do not talk like that) and I have lived in Colorado for over 13 years. I love living in Denver and I can't really see myself leaving Colorado.
I grew up playing just about every sport there is and I am a big NFL fan. I am a Broncos fan so long as they are not playing the Jets, This was the first year that I had season tickets and that was a blast (yes, I am shamelessly throwing that out there . . . ). I also like to go to Coors Field to watch a Rockies game; such a great place to spend a summer day or evening.
I spend a good amount of time running or walking in Wash Park. I love going there to recharge after a long day or to just contemplate things that are occurring in my life. I always leave Wash Park in a good/better mood. I am currently training for a half marathon in San Diego in March.
One of my other favorite places in Colorado is Red Rocks. I am always up for going to a show or for a hike there. I love live music, whether it is a big show at Mile High or a smaller venue such as the Ogden. I also enjoy going to art exhibits at the Denver Art Museum or other galleries in the metro area, especially at the Santa Fe Art District.
I like to travel, but haven't done much of it recently. I would like to change that and find someone who would like to go on weekend trips with me to places in Colorado, other U.S. cities and overseas. I want to make this more of a priority. It is just more fun when you experience it with someone else.
I do like to take that special someone out to dinner or to weekend getaways in the mountains. That being said, when I connect with someone I am just as happy spending time with her at home watching t.v. or going grocery shopping or doing whatever regular daily thing with her. I think it is the time spent together doing these seemingly regular things that really matters the most.
My family and friends are very important to me. I believe I am someone that they know they can always count on. I believe in actions over words and I believe in being a man of my word. I have a niece that is almost two years old and I love spoiling her. It is great when we spend time on Skype (even though she generally hangs up on me a few times).
