Meet single man from Colorado, United States. So no one looks at writing a profile and a.) wishes for a person who is a miserable human being or b.) puts down that they are, so here's my two cents on trying to convince you that I'm not that (and that if you are I'm probably not looking for that ;).
I grew up in Colorado and really do like it here. I left for college but found that I missed the mountains. I've ended up working in a field completely unrelated to anything I went to school for (although I'm not trying to say that that's unusual because for the vast majority of subjects people study there really isn't a direct real world correspondence). I really enjoy my job though and am quite happy that I've found a career that I like.
I enjoy staying in shape and pushing my body to do the things that it doesn't really think it wants to do. I like to do a lot of hiking in the summer and am training for a triathlon (not the hardest thing, but a realistic, achievable and fun goal, my hat goes off to those of you who set out for marathons and the like). I've never actually gotten into skiing. I'm sure the right person could talk me into it but so far I've lacked the motivation to actually learn.
I have a dog and really love dogs so it would be great to have that in common. I would like to think that I'm somewhat intelligent (although I'm doubting few of us think we're dumb), but I'd like to find someone who thinks about the world around them and their place in it. If you can teach me a thing or two about it that would be even better! I do tend to be kind of a news and political junkie (I live on NPR) so if you're into current events that would be a plus, or perhaps at least not annoyed by someone who is ;-). I definitely have my views but think I'm still open to being persuaded provided a good case is made.

Only working 10 days a month gives me time to go to school, learn French, volunteer at the Veterans Hospital and remodel my home.
