Like many of you, I have had an interesting life filled with career opportunities, cherished friendships, adventures traveling, and loving relationships. I have been blessed with a few great loves, especially my late husband who gave me the room to grow in unconditional love for 20 years with humor, honesty, passion and affection, companionship, and adventure, leaving me with a warm heart, many gratitudes and appreciation for that special institution of love and marriage. I helped raise two step-children and am the "cool Auntie" of many young adults. I spent most of my life in California, living in San Francisco, Irvine, Westwood, San Rafael, and now, Sonoma. As a sales and marketing executive, I have traveled extensively in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and some of China but retired a couple of years ago before I reached that million mile mark for lifetime membership in United Premier Executive club. Darn! Travel enlarges my world view and I love being an independent traveler. I have spent vacations in most of Europe, many Caribbean islands, Tahiti, Tonga, Fiji, Australia, Tanzania, Jordan, and the Greek Islands. My bag is always packed and I am ready to go..
Living in the wine country takes me back to my growing up years on a ranch where I raised Tennessee Walking horses. Before I became a city girl, I was a country girl. I have always had a passion for gardening, farm to table cooking, interesting people and entertaining, and now I can indulge myself pursuing these passions. I love the performing arts, classical and popular music, travel, and now bring these interests into the main focus of my life along with being active in various sport activities that were often sidelined during my career years. Rather than slow down in my "third act," I play more, spending more time with golf, dancing, kayaking, Alpine skiing, hiking in Sonoma and Marin, and traveling far and wide. My most recent trips were to Egypt and Morocco as a project leader for Sonoma Sister Cities where I also serve on the Board of Directors. I am currently implementing a grant to alleviate poverty in Africa. I am even writing a cookbook. Do I every relax? Sure. I love lazy days and a cozy fireplaces. Just light the fire.
I am having the time of my life just being and growing in new ways. Retirement is great! I approach life with a lot of laughter and am amazed by the beauty that surrounds me
