Date a woman from United States. I have been divorced for 4 plus years and am thinking I might be ready to try dating. Not sure what that means, it's been about 26 years since I've dated! I am not looking to jump into a serious relationship for the sake of being in one, but I am also not interested in casual relationships. I just want to meet someone whom I enjoy spending time with and if it develops into something we both want to invest in great. I have a pretty busy job and a child who lives with me, so my time is limited. Someone with similar commitments would probably understand.
My 16 year old daughter is my greatest treasure and I take parenting pretty seriously. She comes first until she is out on her own. I would love to meet a man with children who truly enjoys fatherhood, who spends time with his kids, truly enjoys their company, and can put them before himself when appropriate.
I love animals and have a few. I think a person's attitude towards children and animals tells so much about their character. I have 2 rescue cats and a rescue dog. They pretty much own the house or at least think they do.
I love a good laugh and try to not take myself too seriously. I am fairly easy going most of the time and pretty contented with my life. I work hard and like to relax in my time off. A week at home puttering around the house or town appeals to me about as much as a fun vacation away. I need both in my life. I can be a real home body, but I do enjoy travel although I have not done much in my life. I have a passport for the first time in my life and am hoping to take my daughter on a special vacation when she graduates.
I have always enjoyed the outdoors and have spent much time camping, hiking, canoeing, etc. It has been awhile for the last 2 and at this point in my life I much prefer a nice cabin in the woods to a tent. I am afraid in recent years I have not been getting out in the outdoors as much as I would like as my job has become more time consuming. It has been awhile since I have done anything on the Buffalo except drive over it. I did get to spend an afternoon on the Colorado on a raft of sorts last spring. Talk about some cold water!
I am not a particularly athletic person and you will notice I did not list activities such as snow and water skiing. I am not a slug though and I do belong to a gym and try to show up there fairly regularly. I used to have a dog that walked me endlessly. My current dog is more fit for the dog park, an activity to gives her some exercise but not her owner
I enjoy reading, gardening, flea markets and junk shops, movies, music, occasional concerts, occasional local live music, craft fairs, shopping, surfing the net, decorating and updating my home, cuseums, and visiting botanical gardens (yet I have never been to Garvin Gardens, maybe you could accompany me). Amusement parks along the line of Silver Dollar City or better yet Disney are fun. Not crazy about the Six Flags variety. My daughter and I have had 2 very enjoyable vacations to Disneyworld. More recently we had a blast in Chicago shopping, visiting museums, the aquarium, going to the tops of tall buildings, sailing on a tall ship, taking the train around the city, and going to a Buckethead concert at the Vick Theatre (her 16th birthday gift). I am ready for a beach vacation and have one coming up. For music I love classic rock, jazz, blues, and I especially enjoy female vocalists. My all time favorite album has remained Joni Mitchell Blue since I first heard it in high school. Not crazy about country music or rap.
