Meet men and women from United States. I was born at an early age. I don’t remember much from those first few years. I think it must have been traumatic: I understand I cried a lot. Unlike some children, I still have the same mother and father that I had when I was born, so I have been able to piece together a lot. Here is what I have been able to determine so far:
I was born on Sept 27, 1966 (for the math-impaired: that means I am a “twenty-something: twenty-twenty-four, to be exact). I have a sister who is 3 years older. I lived my whole life (until college) in Morristown, TN (roughly 25,000 people. I’ll leave it to the reader to decide whether that is a small town). That’s all I’ve been able to deduce from before college.
I went to college at Tennessee Technological University (TTU) in Cookeville, TN. I started out in Electrical Engineering, but quickly grew dissatisfied. I liked the idea of becoming an engineer more than I liked the idea of being an engineer, and I could see the writing on the wall. I like to tell people that the difference between a scientist and an engineer is that a scientist wants to understand WHY something works, while an engineer wants to understand HOW something works, without really caring WHY it works. I have always been a “why” kind of guy, so I switched to a dual major in Computer Science and Physics. At my particular undergraduate university, you can’t actually declare a double major; you just have to declare one and complete the requirements for both. Because I had declared Physics, the Computer Science Department claimed never to have heard of me and didn’t inform me of some changes to their requirements, so I didn’t finish the requirements for that degree before I left. That is why I only have a B.S. in Physics. People always asked me what you do with a B.S. in Physics (q: what question does a physics major ask on his first job? a: you want fries with that?) I always told them: Get an advanced degree in something useful! So, when I left TTU, I went straight to the Statistics Department at the University of Tennessee, where I received a Master’s Degree in Statistics.
When I left college, I came to Arkansas to work at the National Center for Toxicological Research for several years, and then at Arkansas Children’s Hospital for several more. I work somewhere else now.
I own no dogs, no cats, and no fish. I have one daughter, and one ex-wife. I don’t play any musical instruments, but I own a guitar and a couple of books on how to play it. I recently received a J.D degree from UALR, but I don’t intend to practice law. My only other exposure to the law was through my ex-brother-in-law, but I really don’t want to get into that right now...
