Why I'm on Match.com: My two sisters created this profile a couple of years ago, and I forgot all about it till a week or so ago. I logged on to my account and left the room, and a co-worker thought she would be cute and update my "About Me" . She then proceeded to buy three months worth of membership. (match.com keeps your paypal account on record!) I just decided to roll with it. I mean who better to describe you than three women? I think they prety much nailed it.
I'm not a "Nice Guy" (in the tv/Movie sense) I think I use to be, but that doesn't seem to work for me anymore. I am now applying my attitude that works best for me at work, to my personal life. Hopefully I can give a good honest description of myself and help make this match thing work. I have moved around and traveled quite a bit and so I approach the age of 33 with no kids and no ex-wives. Most of my friends say I'm picky, perhaps so, but I don't want to settle for anything less than a perfect match. I think that my unsettledness has helped lead me to being single most of my life. I lived in Germany for half a year in highschool, ran off and did some traveling alone at age 15 there, haven't stopped since. Went to Kodiak after college to commercial fish, then work brought me to Arkansas. Currently in limbo with a weird schedule, looking for my new best friend and true love.
I'm a caring person, both for people and animals, perhaps a bit more so for animals. I didn't grow up as a hunter but have tried forcing myself to experience it since I'm a meat eater. Since that time I've been eating less and less meat as it wasn't something that really appealed to me. I like to make people laugh, and was reacently told that I am able to tie things together from earlier in a conversation and relate them back to the topic at hand. Guess that means I pay attention as well, although I know I've been told I have a problem with that in the past. Go figure, I guess I'm not perfect.
I don't own a TV and never have. Sure I've lived with people in college that had one and I've had my share of ass time on a couch, but don't really care much for it anymore. I love watching movies but would rather be doing something active than sitting around.
I'm not very religious and Christmas bugs me the most, all the shopping for stuff that we don't need. I like to get people gifts from Heifer International instead, just seems much more in "toon" (not tune) with what the Christians are preaching after all.
Gardening and urban farming are my two main focuses going forward. I have a little land around my house and figure I must try and make the most of it while I have it. As the world approaches 9 billion people by 2050 it will be a problem trying to find cheap food. I recently purchased a bee suit, smoker, and hive and will be moving a wild swarm of bees into their new home this spring. Hopefully they like it and stay awhile, will hope to be able to call myself a bee keeper by years end. Next year, will add chickens to the list.
What else should I write? Old Yeller and the Notebook were both very touching movies, along with lots of others that can turn the tap on. I have lots of old friends from where I grew up west of Madison, WI, mostly in their 70's, that I really truly respect and love getting together with. They have lived through so much and we could all really learn a lot from their experiences. I prefer white over red wine, and red over white beer, white tea and black coffee. I make my banana bread with no sugar or butter, just extra ripe bananas, and don't add sugar or salt to anything I cook. I like cooking.
Hopefully this and the other boxes on here spark a little interest at least. I've been on some dates before and it seems like if we're not kidding ourselves, we should know within the first drink if there's any chemistry there or not. I'm not willing to fake it just to get a notch on my belt, so hope that you're looking for the same.
