Date someone special from Superior, United States. Sigh. Ok, here is the deal. I am willing to try to actually convey some semblance of my sense of humor, my intelligence, and my ability to properly punctuate sentences in this box. In return for that, I whole-heartedly expect for you to more-or-less disregard everything that you read, look at least two pictures, then make a snap judgment. That's fair, right? I mean, you probably assume that 95% of the guys on match do that. Who knows, maybe you are correct. Anyways, that deal doesn't really seem like it makes any sense, but things that don't make sense are at least interesting for about 5 minutes.
So... I constantly find myself attracted to smart girls. Specifically, the ones that are smarter than me. Thankfully, I'm not all that bright, so there are a lot of those. Thankfully, smart people are generally tolerant of stupid jokes, as long as the good intention is there. Seriously though, I like to have conversations that I don't dominate, and I find that for those to be interesting, it helps when I don't know as much about the subjects as the beautiful girl sitting across the table from me.
Speaking of that, I have this tendency to try, against all odds, to date girls that are massively pretty. Usually, this ends in abject disaster, as such girls usually try to date boys that are massively sculpted, moneyed, or can cook. Sometimes, though... Sometimes such attempts provide months and months of stimulating conversation, physical contact, or both. At these times, I count my lucky stars, and hope for a few more months. Right now, I'm hoping to get started again, and maybe that's where you come in?
I feel like this is coming across as a little theoretical, or inaccessible. Should we try for a lighter tone? It is 12 am, and I am about to crack a coke open. I want to finish this. I want to unpack my suitcase. I want to read for a while, and then not go to work tomorrow morning. I want to send you a text in the morning while I am (sadly) at work, then meet up with you in the evening to catch open-mic night somewhere fun (Read: somewhere that I can get a stout or a brown, or even an Sierra Nevada. I want to get dirty looks from the the open-mic MC because we're talking loudly over the performers' songs, then trade mischievous grins with you. I want to continue this in person, rather than telling you about my crazy date plans in this box.
[Full disclosure: I had to look up how to spell mischievous. Does anyone else have a tendency to insert an i before that ous at the end? Isn't that how it's usually pronounced?]
That seemed like a pretty good departure into less monotonous prose. You at least got a glimpse of my surface desires. But underneath all of that skin tattooed with pick-up lines and grocery lists, I do have real, substantive wishes and altruisms. Those are difficult to flesh out in Arial though. I think I need body language and eye contact. I know that a smile or other tactful prodding does not hurt while those things are overcoming stage-fright. So... are you able to tactfully prod?
What else? Hmm... I'm good at skiing. I mean, I moved here from Virginia so I could ski, so it would be rather silly if I couldnt find my way down The Burn, Cimmaron, The Skreefield, or any other of the numerous fantastic physically challenging downhill pathways that Colorado offers. I don't really venture out into the back-country on skis. I haven't bothered to learn enough about snow/avalanches/weather/coffins for that to be a good idea. I do hope to learn to tele this year though.
I'm mediocre at home repairs. I despise being sunburned, so I wear SPF 50. Those seem like good random facts to end on. Don't forget to respond to my emails, and you'll get more random facts. Sigh. Incentive fail.

I am a nerd. I think the nerd stereotype can be an uncomfortable box. Once I start talking people find I'm very grounded with a diverse set of interests. I've never been able to cultivate that tunnel vision other nerdy people have, you know the type, all they can talk about is that one thing they are into. I don’t define my identity around my interests. That said, I do read comic books, build computers, and couldn't care less about sports.
I grew up around Washington DC, and have lived in NYC, LA, and SF. I was originally a toy designer. I switched careers and became a video game designer. Currently, I am attempting to become a novelist. My previous career choices have given me the stability to explore this option.
I'm not a social butterfly. I tend to keep to myself with shades of a hermit-like temperament, though I do enjoy going out, but my destination is never a bar or club. I like quiet places and off-hours, where I can think, or, if I am with someone, have a meaningful conversation. I’m a sensitive book reading type of guy, not a beefcake who is constantly trying to prove his masculinity.
I'd like to find a companion I click with, whose company I can entertain and not regret doing so. Someone who can understand that I am a brooding, creative, and eccentric type of person who on occasion rambles. A stable young woman who is an intelligent equal, but unique in her own way. I relocated to the Boulder area from Northern Virginia for a new job about 2 years ago, and have grown to really love this part of the country and all it has to offer! I love my job, have a great group of coworkers that I enjoy hanging out with, and live a pretty active lifestyle. Now I just need to find someone special with whom I can share it all!
A few tidbits about me:
I pay the bills by working as a product designer, and graduated in the top five in my design curriculum at Auburn. I grew up on a farm in Kentucky; someday, I think I might like to find my way back there. I ride the fence between being health-conscious and a Cracker Barrell addict. I sing in the shower and car, and I think I'm sorta decent?!? I pride myself on being a gentleman, and will make every effort to not let you walk down stairs first - or on the street/curb side of the sidewalk. I make a sincere effort to be nice to everyone I meet - be it the Jeff Spicoli-ish guy at the 28th Street Quizno's in Boulder (one of you out there has to know the guy I'm talking about!) who makes my toasty sandwich, or the cashier that rings up my groceries. Niceness goes a long way.
I strive to appreciate ALL that life has to offer, and to enjoy the journey every day. I try to maintain a good balance and be well-rounded. I am equally at home screaming at a SEC football game or attending a Broadway show. I place a high value on intellect, but still love nothing more than being goofy and laughing until I can't breathe. I am relatively sophisticated, but approachable. I can recognize a Van Gogh, but can also drive a tractor. I try to avoid debt, but not be a penny-pincher. I realize that having a successful career is important, but not more important than the people you love. I have old-fashioned values, but am not a total prude. I enjoy nice things, but know that they aren't really what is important in life. I love a good hymn on Sunday morning, but also love tearing down the road and rocking out to Dr. Feelgood. Moderation is so important! I like to think I hit the sweet spot between rebel and nerd - hopefully, your parents would like me, but I wouldn't bore you. My politics lean Libertarian; I supported Ron Paul in '08 and was a state delegate this year. I care about the environment and value good stewardship of our natural resources. My heroes include Thomas Jefferson, Jack Black, and my Dad. My idea of a fun Saturday is hopping on my motorcycle with a camera, taking a scenic ride, and discovering a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant along the way. I'm far from perfect and have made my share of mistakes, but I hope I've learned along the way what it takes to maintain a healthy and fulfilling relationship!

Intelligence is key! Proper grammar is sexy. I'd like to meet someone with a warm personality who possesses solid values, but also has a healthy dose of spark/originality. Ideally, you're someone that isn't scared to be yourself - and are comfortable sharing all your idiosyncrasies with me. Maybe mildly nerdy/quirky too, to keep me rolling with laughter. Hopefully you strive to be somewhat stylish and attractive, without obsessing over appearance. You already know that, no matter what the disagreement, two people who love each other shouldn't let things slip to the point of shouting or bickering. Adaptability and flexibility are so important! Hopefully you enjoy kids, and want some of your own at some point. Good conversation skills are critical; sitting at dinner in silence with no talking or laugher is just depressing! I don't tend to like fake/snobbish/materialistic people, be them guys or girls, so hopefully that isn't what your life is all about. I hope to find someone who I can feel completely comfortable taking home to my family, yet, has a bit of an edge and can keep me on my toes.

Meet single man from Superior, United States. I am originally from Texas and moved to Colorado about 6 months ago. I am still discovering many of the wonders that Colorado has to offer.
I enjoy traveling. I am just as happy visiting a new place as I am spending time in local areas. I enjoy time in coffee shops, writing a story over reading a book. I enjoy my own adventure as opposed to reading about someone else's.

Date a man from Superior, United States. I am originally from Southwestern Ontario and have been living in CO since 2005. I did move to Toronto for 1 year in 2010 but came right back to Colorado. I was in school till I was 30 and still think I will go back for another degree but enjoying the freedom a little too much right now. I have run my own company since 2006 and have a non-traditional work schedule that allows me to ski during the week when there are no lines and travel at the drop of a hat - I love doing both. I still play hockey 3-4 times a week and stay in pretty good shape. I am very close with my family and friends and even closer with my dog.
I have been told I have "no tact", although I just take that to mean I am honest. I am very easy going and am looking for the same kind of person. I love to laugh and be around happy people.
