Most of my family lives here though, so I'm happy to be back. I live in the heart of Old Town which has been a lot of fun. I love having everything within walking distance, whether it's Sunday brunch, a new restaurant for dinner, or occasionally getting a drink with friends. I'm guessing most every guy on here exaggerates to try and prove he's not a couch potato and that he's the rugged, outdoorsy, active guy you all hope to meet. Let me just assure you then that when I'm not at the gym (I go like 10 days a week), I love dirt biking, trail running, mountain climbing, scuba diving, off-roading Jeeps, you name it! Ok, that's not true at all, haha. I will gladly go hiking with you, how's that? I usually get my outdoor fix from playing golf though. Even if it's 110 degrees out, I try and get out there every weekend with my dad, brother, and/or friends. I have a terrible ankle sock tan as a result, so I apologize if that is a deal breaker...
So who am I looking for? I think people get a little carried away with their list of "demands" on who they hope to meet. Of course it's important to have a good sense of humor and (insert other cliches here). What I'm getting at is, sometimes you find chemistry with someone you don't expect! I am a 28-year-old originally from Baltimore, Maryland. After graduating from college, I briefly worked for an online collections company. It didn't take long for me to realize that collections was not for me so I moved to Arizona to pursue a career in the golf industry. I've always had a love for sports. Growing up I played a lot of baseball and basketball and now it's mostly golf, with an occasional basketball game. Coaching youth sports has also always been a goal of mine. Along with playing sports, I've always enjoyed being active with some of my favorites being hiking and snow-skiing. Since moving to Arizona I've only done a couple hikes, but I'm always looking forward to trying new ones. I am a third year PhD student and work as a teaching associate to pay the bills. Lab work and teaching take up a lot of my time, but at the end of most days I do find ways to have fun. I enjoy trying anything new (good things--fun, bad things--make good stories later), and might be missing a bit of fear according to some. I try never to be reckless, but I still want to skydive, bungee jump, and hang-glide (to name a few things) and I enjoy achieving each goal (recently learning to ride a motorcycle and how to fire a riffle--still have archery on the list). I have only been able to travel abroad to Taiwan (awesome summer) and to a bunch of US cities (mostly east and west coast), so I still have Australia and Europe, as well as anywhere else I get a change to visit.
With that being said, I do enjoy just laying back and relaxing (a couch is always better to lay on than sit on). I also enjoy going out to a bar (grown a fondness for local brews), live music (both loud/fast and more acoustic), and live shows (comedy, magic, pretty much anything). To counter the effects of beer and bar food (as seen in my older photos--need to take newer photos), I have taken up biking to work in the last 6 months. When the weather is nice I also like to run, hike, and play tennis. Plus there is racquetball when it is hot as hell.
So with that, I am looking for a nice, sweet, active, opinionated, take-no-cr*p girl. I am not looking for a maid/housewife, replacement mother, or anything of the sort. A few random things. I believe relationships should be equal, so the girl as much as the guy can pursue and initiate things. I do not see chivalry as demeaning and will hold a door open (which I have/will accept the girl doing for me). I am not a religious person (have nothing against it, just not me) but I do enjoy religious discussion (the calm kind--without yelling, lynching, bombs) and find it interesting. I am sarcastic, I try not to be caustic, but I do find humor in life and will laugh (when I poke fun, I tend to leave room for poking back).
