I am very active, high energy, love to smile and laugh, devoted to keeping in shape, eating right, and I've been told I don't look or act anywhere near my age. I know personally I don't feel my age at all. I weigh what I did in high school, and when I get two pounds above that, I just eat less and exercise harder. I returned from Colorado on July 9th, 2011 after climbing Mt. Evans, and included three recent photos from that trip. I recently purchased a camper van and plan to use it as a means to escape the summer heat.
Although I am bald on top, I have very few gray hairs on the side .... it's in my genes, as well as longevity. I love to laugh and tease in a friendly way. My health is excellent and I keep up to date with doctor and dentist visits. I don't go to bars (never did) and never attended those friday after work happy hours. I always wanted to just get home and be with my family. I do understand why women need a "woman's night out" and free time to do what they wish. I think that's great, and would just give my gal a nice hug and say "have a great time" and "I love you!!". I'll clean up the dishes, kitchen, and do whatever else needs to be done.
I do my own home maintenance, own my home in a great neighborhood, and even do a fair degree of cooking. I build custom furniture as a hobby and business, and have built most of the furniture in my home. I also do my own auto maintenance. I recently completed remodeling my master bathroom in additon to my guest bathroom, and remodeled my daughters master bath in Calif. Pics included.
I feel lonely at times, and would like to share in conversation with someone, and do things we would both like to do, like bicycle riding and hiking, travelling, or just relaxing and talking. I would like to build a serious, lasting relationship eventually. I have a strong empathy for others. I also miss having a woman's advice on furniture design, things in the home, and plants inside and out. I have a swimming pool that I hardly use, but I built a nice waterfall next to it. and that is pleasant to have.
I don't know if someone gets over losing a loved one like I have, but I have certainly gotten on with my life. My wife told me a few times that if she passed on before me, she hoped I would find another mate. I think she knew I needed that companionship.
I love animals and have always had a dog. My sweet Dottie crossed the rainbow bridge in August, but I now have Petunia, a 10 year old rescue beagle. We are getting along quite well.
