I am first and foremost the father of an amazing 13-year old girl ( as she reminds me daily) who has helped me become proficient in resolving daily friendship crises, knowing where all of the Pink stores are located in Phoenix, and being able to pick Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj out of a photo lineup.
I'm an attorney, so if you agree with Shakespeare ("lets kill all the lawyers") that may be a deal breaker. I'm an avid baseball and football fan and I attend a fair share of D-Backs games. I enjoy participating in charity events for causes like cystic fibrosis and Special Olympics. I feel very fortunate about my life and think we should give back to others when we can. Travel is fantastic. Some of my favorite cities to visit are my home town, Chicago, and San Francisco. In Europe, my favorite city (so far) is Bellagio on Lake Como - but sadly, no one mistook me for George Clooney when I was there.
I'm a big fan of live music - mostly rock with a little jazz and blues thrown in for variety. I enjoy seeing plays and am always amazed by live acting. I'm not a huge fan of musicals, but I took my daughter to see "Wicked" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I work out regularly and enjoy hiking, particularly if there are interesting views or cool sites. Tonto Bridge or the Mogollon Rim trail for example. Being housebroken, I know my way around a laundry room and can single-handedly cook a holiday meal, despite the lingering rumors about a failed stuffing dish in 2011.
I'm close to my family and I think it's important to maintain and pass along family traditions to my daughter. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but a great smile, warm eyes and infectious laugh are always beautiful. And while the initial attraction is physical for me (preference for athletic types), after the first encounter or two it shifts to what's between the ears. A sense of humor, intellectual curiosity, self-confidence and the ability to communicate directly and openly are what take things to the next level. While sensitive (for a guy), I've proven conclusively that I am not good at reading between the lines. Just tell me what it is you want and I'll do my best to please. . I am retired military and a Clinical Social Worker. I was stationed in Tucson from 1997-2000, and fell in love with the desert and the sunsets! Moved back in 2005 and have mostly worked only short term contract jobs. Am going to teach at Pima College and become certified to teach HS history/social studies. Am very interested in taking a social worker position as a civilian with the military in Europe and/or Japan at least for a few years, but not sure when exactally.
