Success would not be measured in miles, and certainly not in speed, but in the experiences along the way and (hopefully) from the feeling of self direction that comes from an open road (or trail) with no schedule or timetable. Planning, knowledge, building stamina, more equipement and that most elusive commodity -opportunity. I have done a couple of 100 mile charity rides. The most difficult part is not the ride it's self, but just saying 'I can do this'. This a a dream, that if possible, I would like to share.
Most of my best times are spent outside. Not necessarily in nature but at least connected with it. I like being in the sun, snow, rain wind, whatever is on offer that day. I'm not really a tree hugger but I do like to grow them. And the sound of wind on the top of the pines is up there with a Nick Mason guitar rif.
