I am a California girl who was born in Texas and moved to AZ about 2.5 years ago. I still consider California home, but I am not sorry that I picked up and moved here to try something new.
I am an outgoing person, but I must say it's not easy to figure out what to say about myself. I have no problem meeting people and don't feel awkward going places without a wingman, although being around friends is always fun. I would be considered a 'bold' or type A person it would seem. At least that's what the personality test I just took at work told me. People tell me that I am funny all the time, however I don't intend to be. I tend to say the things that people are thinking and I guess it usually comes out with humor. I do my best to be honest and speak my mind while not doing so at the expense of other people. I have worked hard towards becoming a person who truly listens to others and recognizes and accepts people for who they are. I like when I get the same treatment. Most of my friends have been long time friends and I'm vey loyal. I will go to bat for the people I care about and what I am passionate about anytime.I
am definitely more of a casual type girl, although I can dress up and play the part when the situation warrants it. I'd much rather be in jeans and flip flops though. Although I'm sure I wouldn't hate traveling in luxury, I am more of a camping, road trip, quirky place vacation kind of girl. I just got my passport a few months ago and I can't wait to use it. Sadly, the last time I was out of the country was before you needed a passport to go to Mexico.
I like to be active, although I don't play any organized sports at the moment. I tend to be more of a sports watcher. I am big Chargers and Ducks hockey fan, although I'll go to any sporting event and watch just about anything. When I lived in CA I had season tickets to the Ducks and worked at their venue for 2 years. I am lucky enough to have a really awesome Stanely Cup story that is one of my greatest memories.
As far as music goes, I love concerts. I wil worked at 2 different concert venues in CA and learned to appreciate a good live show, even if the music wasn't my favorite. I try to see as many concerts as I can. While I am not a huge metal or rap fan, even those guys can put on a show. I am not into night clubs and pretty much only go when someone else feels like having their special occasion at one. I do like a good live band at a bar and will shake my groove to something like that. I also know how to country dance pretty darn good.
I like to read, but I am not a bookworm. I go to the library regularly and will read just about anything except sci-fi and romances with Fabio types on the cover...that doesn't mean I don't read "chick books" though.
The type of person that I'm looking for is one who will be a partner. I'm a pretty strong person and want someone who can stand right along with me. I think goals are important and I hope to find someon who will support me in mine while I do the same for them...and eventually work on common goals together. I really like my life and want to add a great person to it. I am independent and definitely have my ways, but am also flexible and know that compromise makes a great relationship.

I love teaching English to high school students, even though most people think I am insane for working with teens. The truth is it is the greatest job ever and I feel lucky to have found a career that I really enjoy. I also do a little acting on the side with a troupe in our district that puts on benefit plays for the summer theater program.
Let's see...I am a total movie buff and I will pretty much watch anything (except Will Ferrell...sorry!). Sure I like chick flicks, but I am also really into action and horror films. Ask me about my favorites. :)
I'm too uncoordinated to actually play sports, but I like watching baseball, basketball and hockey. Oh, and I LOVE lacrosse! It's the greatest sport ever! !
