Date men from United States / Arizona / Avondale, 67 year old

Date someone special from United States.
As my "headline" suggests, I enjoy the life of the mind but am by no means stuffy or staid.
By the calendar I'm 67, but agile of intellect, spirit, and body! I had to be, for I taught philosophy and world religions to adolescents for 31 years! I retired in June and am settling in now, and hope to meet many people, perhaps someone special with whom I could share all of the joys of the next phase of my life. Friends say that I have a lively sense of humor, and I believe that's on target! Laughter allows for not taking ourselves too seriously, even when times are trying or challenging. New England and boarding school life were not part of my childhood or family of origin. Rather I grew up in a 3rd floor walk-up in the heart of Chicago, became a "greaser" in the late 50's and "semi-delinquent," and then was led by a series of grace-ful people and events to education and my own style of vocation. I've owned a few
motorcycles in my day, and miss that now and then. I can be pensive, but also have a warm romantic streak just below the surface, where you'll also find a heaping measure of passion.
I arrived in the Phoenix this past August, but did only moved into a home in Avondale in November
I am interested in finding an honest and thoughtful person, hopefully with her own sense of humor and wit, who enjoys life and has attained some balance and perspective. I am not hard to look at, and am notoriously open-minded. Spirituality is important to me, as the foundation for a loving home and shared intimacy. A thoughtful partner and friend would be most welcome as I move forward into this new phase of my life. I have sustained warm, trusting relationships in the past and am ready to do so again. I know there are women out there who value that kind of partnership. Please
be bold and contact me, if I'm slow finding you!
I believe I've continued to grow and even within the last 9 months there have been moments of insight about self and others. The stages of my life do seem to be the stages of its tempering. I believe I have an adamantine sense of self
where values and principles are concerned, andyet remain teachable ready for friendship, romance or whatever lies in my/our future!
