I recently finished a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I love this work even though it can be very painful. Part of the appeal of moving to Alaska was to be able to function as a doctor without the artificial distance of the title. I am a doctor, but, to me, being a doctor means that Ihave a level of knowledge and experience that brings me closer to people. It doesnt create distance or set me apart from people. I located myself in Juneau for match.com even though I actually live much further south. My first reason for during this is because its a very bad idea for me to date anyone on my island. I simply won't do it. I have a very public position on a very small island. It would be nearly impossible for me to date someone without somehow having that dating relationship affect my clients. My second reason, is that I won't be there for more than a year or two. I'm enjoying my time in Metlakatla but I can't call it home. I don't know where home IS yet. I loved the northwest corner of Montana but I'm not sure where I will eventually land. Home could truly end up being anywhere. I'm getting great experience in Alaska. I like it here and I believe I may end up in Juneau or Anchorage. Time will tell.

So, now that I've made myself seem very intense and sober, I should say I'm actually very down-to-earth and fun. I don't think I'm the typicaly doctor-type....if there is such a thing.
