I enjoy travel - I still need to see Denali (my pup's namesake). And I love the mountains! My dream home is a log cabin tucked next to a stream or lake in the middle of nowhere. Life is truly my oyster! By the way, I eat them raw! I'm looking for a man who is sure of who he is - a warrior with a sensitive side, a man of strong moral character who likes to act a little crazy sometimes, an adventurous spirit who also enjoys quiet evenings at home. Prefer small quiet groups, love the symphony, theatre, fishing, never could actually pull the trigger hunting, but love the processing part after someone else does, canning, cooking, taking walks and red wine. Have always been athletic and muscular but started cross country skiing this winter and realized I need to stop being a workaholic and get back in shape!!!. That first day I thought I was going to die!!! Still working on that! And the workaholic thing is not helping! I'm fine by myself or I can easily host a large party including cooking the meal. Love to travel and explore the real parts of a coutry, find the family restaurants tucked around the corner on a back street and soak up the culture. No cruise ships or all inclusive resorts.

I am self employed and love what I do. I spent much of my young adulthood commerical fishing and working fish and game and forest service...the last 20 I have spent working with people. I love both and like a balance.
I have spent most of my adult life married but most of my 40s single, busy with my kids and family. This fall is the first time in decades that my life is once again my own and its a bit of an adventure.

My favorite books are the tao te ching, the harry potter series, smilas sense of snow, the sun in splendor, total concious loving, 12 x 12, the dancing wuli masters, the green witch, Permaculture, Gias Garden, the help, and tons and tons more...I love books! movies favs run to musicals..old wonderful corny ones like 7 brides for 7 brothers, to new wonderful ones like Across the Universe and Mama Mia...I also love crouching tiger hidden dragon, the HP series and narnia, old silly comedys like when nature calls and pet detective
Music tastes runs the gamut from Adele my new favorite, bluegrass, nickle creek to alternative, nickle back, I love Seal, Patty Griffin, Amy Lee some time I crank it and rock out while I clean the house and sometimes I listen to classical...usually I do acoustic, bliss with and without funk...I even have techno days
Oh and food...I like Real food, mainly vegetairian but I do eat seafood, halibut, salmon and scallops....and every once in a while if I can get it grassfed or kobe beef. LOL
Every thing I have ever thougt I could not do with out at some point I have learned I could... ..so I will say that the things I would rather not do without are fresh air, clean water and whole food...access to my kids and family,soulful love, the ocean, wood fire, a comfy bed with down blankets,
I spend a lot of time thinking about the beauty of the world, what the tides are doing, my kids, and how amazing powerful and yet fragile people are...how much kindess heals and how important love is
On a typical Friday night I am at the beach on low tide, watching movies with my 13 year old and his friends or maybe out to dinner with friends, or at a contra dance or maybe the cajun 2 step or salsa night...might be at home by the fire reading a book, or sking the trails depending on the turn of the season

I am learning how to balance work with my personal life. I love a surprise lunch or walk to break me out of my focus at work. I try to walk, swim, or bike everyday. I live in my blue jeans, but can get dressed up if I need to. No make up. I may drink an occasional beer or glass of wine, but I could never drink again and that would be fine too. No drugs.
I am energetic, and expressive. I am always trying/learning how to communicate more effectively. Speaking my truth and listening to yours is an expression of intimacy I deeply value. I love to laugh. I love to share and I need space. I can not be tethered. I am a bird in flight. And I also love to sit quietly in my nest. What seems like staying in touch too me is sometimes not enough for another. I am 100% wherever I am, so it may seem like I am not paying attention, but I am.
