I teach Shakespeare; I read contemporary Scottish fiction. If you want my opinion on Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting), I'll oblige, but my recommendation is A.L. Kennedy's So I Am Glad. My favorite marks of punctuation are the dash and the semi-colon. And I know how to use them.
