Date a soulmate from Alabama, United States. Honest, hard working, and fun loving. Looking for someone the same. I am not interested in games or players. If you are someone who likes to laugh and avoids games, we might be compatible.
I am passionate about the outdoors. I'm a girl who likes college football and sports in general. I enjoy photography and travel. I'm happy spending time in the outdoirs or walking around a museum. My friends say I'm easy going and not all girls girl froofroo.
Meet someone special from Alabama, United States. I am looking for someone who can start a conversation about artwork, move on to the American Revolution and end up discussing the difference in a knuckleball, a slider and a fastball. I have a wide variety of interests.
I am just as comfortable admiring the architecture in a big city as I am admiring nature's wonders in the mountains and outdoors.
I am a lifelong Methodist and am a follower of Jesus but I have some issues with organized religion right now. Particularly the way it is being used in politics.
My friends say I am really funny and would like to spend the day inside my mind. Here's an example: Why did the chewing gum cross the road? It was stuck to the chicken's foot! Actually, a little kid told me that one. And do chickens have feet or are those considered talons?
More about me: I divorced in 2008 and have not been ready to consider a relationship until now. I used that time to discoved who I am and what I want from life. I also gave my son as much attention as he needed during his formative years. I have also realized that I would rather be alone than with the wrong person.
I have raised my 17 year old son for several years as a single, working mom and he has turned out to one fantastic young man. I think one of the most mportant things you do in life is to raise your children well and I have done that. He will be leaving for college in the fall of 2013.
I am self-sufficient and self-supporting thanks to wonderful parents (married 54 years until my father passed away) who taught me a strong work ethic.
I like to be around other people who are generally positive and fun and are socially aware and want to help others.
My ideal match would be someone who is kind, intelligent, can switch conversations between sports and current events and history... and makes me laugh every day. Being nice to kids, animals and older people is a must.
I love to read and can't live without books. I am a little bit of an information junkie. I get my news and information from tv and the internet (NY Times, the Huffington Post).
I act much younger than my age. On Saturday morning, I savor my coffee while watching Spongebob Squarepants (it's funny - give it a chance)!
I do enjoy sports and am a fan of Auburn football, New Orleans Saints football, Atlanta Braves baseball, and New York Knicks basketball.
I enjoy hiking the 4 miles of trails in the sports complex behind my house and hiking in the Smokies. I have hiked almost every trail in the Smokies but love hiking Mt. LeConte in the snow.
One of my biggest indulgences is travel. My favorite cities are NYC, New Orleans, Maui (not a city but an island), Savannah and Washington DC. I really want to travel more outside of the USA...
I respect other's religious beliefs even if they are not mine.
One of my motto's is "Be the change you want to see in the world". - Gandhi
Another favorite quote is "Certain things in life are more important than the usual crap that everyone strives for". - James Taylor
I would like to think there is someone out there with whom I could grow old but I would rather be alone than with the wrong person.
Good luck with your search!
