I'm not completely sure what I'm looking for in listing myself on a dating site........ Certainly it isnt a husband or someone to "save me". A friend? A good man? Maybe just someone that I'd otherwise not have the opportunity to meet? Probably the later. I'm not a perfect person, and not expecting it in someone else. But I am kind and considerate and have been told that it's sometimes to my own detriment. Working on that :). I have a good sense of humor and hope and need that in my life.
I dont require a lot to be happy. I want to be considered and valued. I'm comfortable at home with a glass of wine from a box or fine dining. I'm humble, but not a doormat. I hate confrontation and much prefer peace. I'm not a Nazi feminist and prefer to be treated like a woman, I'm not paranoid or jealous. I love to travel.....a short road trip or a long vacation is great. I hope to be able to enjoy more of that. I am not judgemental, but still have an opinion and am passionate about the things I care about.
What am I looking for?? That's a difficult. A faithful friend..... A fan...... someone to build me up and not tear me down. A kind (yet real and honest) person to remind me that life and lI've can be a safe place. Someone to do some fun things with, and to remind me of of the good things I may have forgotten along the way. A stable minded man .... Whew, that's a biggie there lol.

Having said that..Hi..I'm April!
I'm a happy, healthy, energetic and curious woman. I love to laugh and sing and dance. Sometimes I cry and I have my bad times, but I seem to always come out a stronger person than I was before. I'm a fighter and a survivor.
I am an aspiring writer and have started a book, although poetry comes much easier to me naturally. I've written over 75 poems
in the last 18 months..and it all started because someone said to me, "April, you should start writing." So..I did and now I can't stop..lol
I workout at a local gym with a trainer and I'm loving it. I am eating healthy, although I have been known to splurge on occasion, just because I want to..lol..and because I can :)
I am a soul searcher and am very spiritual as it has been my lifeline for many years. My spirituality is my own and is a combination
of many belief systems that work for me in my life.
I have s son who is 20 who lives at home due to having Asperger's (high-functioning autism). I do not have much to offer younger
children and I say that because I know who I am and what I can and cannot do. Nuff said :)
I am retired from the U. S. Coast Guard due to a disability, but trust me..it does not get me down. Been there..done that. I am very independent and know my strengths and my weaknesses.
I strive to be a compassionate woman due to my own struggles in life. I try to give back what I have so freely been given and am looking forward to the happiest days of my life..those to come.
What am I looking for? Hmm....someone who does not need a woman to take care of them. Someone who is strong, but gentle who has a mind of his own, but who is open to change at any given moment..lol. Someone who has a spiritual path of some kind and it doesn't have to be like mine. One who is settled in his life, is confident and assured, but who is honest about his weaknesses because we all have them. Someone who is financially stable, because I am..lol and who is attractive and finds me attractive ;)
No..looks aren't everything and attractive is truly in the eyes of the beholder. Someone who really does not smoke, drink or do drugs of any kind!!
PS...all my women friends think I am a little eccentric..I tend to agree. :D
