I grew up in Montgomery, AL, went to college in CT, and am back home living in Birmingham, AL. I am a very hard working dedicated person and I live life to it's fullest. I laugh often and am very optimistic. I think my smile is contagious :) I have two young children (both girls), ages 8 and 10, that are the light of my life. My 10 year old is very smart and a blast to be around. My 8 year old is fun too but in an athletic sort of way. They both play soccer and I coach them; it's been great fun for all of us.
I am a lifetime student and I have 2 undergrad degrees, an MA, and a Ph.D. I am a professor and I love my job. Being around my students helps keep me feeling young.
In my free time I spend lots of time with my children (they don't live with me, but they live very close by), play the guitar and drums, exercise daily (I'm training for a marathon), mountain bike, and canoe on the lake and on the rivers. I'm always try to keep busy doing something. Oh, and I LOVE to read.
I enjoy helping others more than anything else. That's why I'm a teacher. I would put everything I'm doing on hold if someone I knew needed help with anything at all.
I love to travel, but I don't get to do it as often I would like. I have friends all over the country and try to visit them as often as I can. I usually just have to pay for airfare, which is nice.
I am incredibly honest and trustworthy. I would expect my match to have the same qualities. That is extremely important to me.
I have a great, maybe sarcastic, sense of humor. I love horror movies, but also like slapstick comedies such as Naked Gun.
I am looking for someone to spend time with, to be able to share my life with, to be able to have fun with, to be able to exercise with, to be able to travel with, to be able to hang out with, and to just be able to connect with.
