Physically I'm an active person, I jog, dance, practice Yoga and Pilates, and love nothing more than long walks in wild and beautiful places. I'm adventurous, love learning and travel, beauty in all its forms, new ideas, new foods, new ways of looking at the world. I value compassion and awareness for things as they are.
Art in it's various guises has been a central preoccupation for me, from visual art, to music, dance, theater, poetry and literature. I am an appreciator of art's capacity to enrich life and I would love to find a partner who shares these sensibilities. I read fiction and non-fiction with equal interest, am a published poet and have an unfulfilled desire to make art. Presently, I am engaged in writing and creating art catalogs for private collectors. Writing has been a life long practice in one form or another; I aspire to "risk delight... in the ruthless furnace of this world", as the poet Jack Gilbert said.
My eclectic and wide ranging interests also include photography, film, travel, gardening, cooking, art criticism, psychoanalysis and most particularly, and daily, being in some beautiful outdoor space. I especially love opera, classical, jazz and great music of any kind. I find that music, great literature and art get more meaningful as I get older. I would love to share deeply on this level.
I am searching for a creative and intimate counterpart, someone who can meet me on as many levels as we can aspire to, someone who knows the value of ongoing and real conversation, loves beauty, values sensual delights and challenges, is emotionally open and ethically grounded; one who lives with awareness of the spiritual dimension of being alive and yet takes care of his physical self, has an appreciation for beauty, loves the natural world and is passionate about what he loves but open to new possibilities and adventures.
Most of all I wish to share dreams, meals, silence and conversation with that longed for other, the one who desires as I do, to meet in the deep-down places that matter.
