Sitting in a hot jacuzzi and plunging into the swimming pool afterwards. In the winter that gets mighty cold – 52 degrees. Brr!!! … but it IS invigorating.
Recent Fun and Adventures
Recent excursions include a trip to the quarry in Riverside and then following the BoulderРІР‚в„ўs journey to LACMA (donРІР‚в„ўt let them hear you call it "a Rock"). I also went to check out the new Expo Line. I will be even happier once it reaches Santa Monica in two years. Then I can just hop on to go to cultural events downtown.
I was daring enough to accept the invitation of a Finnish installation artist at PS.1 in New York. My son, his girlfriend and a stranger and I sat in the sauna, then stepping outside, into the public area, and getting cold water ladled on us. Then we sat outside with just a towel wrapped round us, sipping a glass of wine. You can imagine that this startled quite a few of the unsuspecting museum patrons.
Plato (is supposed to have) said, "Music gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." When going to Walt Disney Concert Hall, I leave home early so that I donРІР‚в„ўt have to fight the traffic. IРІР‚в„ўd rather sit comfortably in the Omni Hotel, read while sipping a glass of wine, walk over to Walt Disney, have dinner, and will be ready for the pre-concert lecture, and then enjoy the music.
Random Thoughts
Why am I usually the only person walking up the stairs - and getting strange looks as if I had technophobia - while the rest of the world takes escalators and elevators? Be it at Walt Disney Concert Hall, airports, or movie theaters?
My friends tell me that I am attractive, charming, and outgoing, with lots of energy. If I had to go on I would add honest, easy to be with, flexible, and spontaneous. I like to laugh. The proverbial glass is not half full, but usually full!
I am curious and inquisitive - I like to engage in "thinking" activities as well as experience things that I have never done before. I treasure conversation in quiet places - fancy or "hole in the wall" ethnic restaurants are perfect.
I go to exercise classes, and hike early in the morning in Rustic Canyon. I enjoy walking in Palisades Park, but would enjoy it more if I could watch the sunset with a great guy! I love to dance. During the summer, I go on long bike rides in Europe.
It is great fun walking on the beach - splashing in the water - to one of my favorite hangouts, "Back of the Beach" to read the morning papers. I enjoy nature, but am even more drawn to cities with the richness of cultural activities. Exploring neighborhoods by bike or walking is a great afternoon.
My children live a fair distance away - one on the East Coast, the other in the Netherlands, but we see each other quite often. I have a nice circle of friends whose company I treasure.
If you are physically active, enjoy life, are happy, like playing with ideas and otherwise, I would love to meet you and chat over a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or even better - a margarita and guacamole. By the way, I am fortunate by not being burdened with any past "baggage". I do have luggage, and enjoy using it without too much advance notice.
