ABOUT ME. I was widowed in 2006 after 41 years in a very successful marriage. My only child, a son, married his college sweetheart and "produced" two adorable grandchildren. The family relocated to Texas in 2010 which means I must travel futher and stay longer for visits!! I was born and raised in Tulsa but have lived in California for 46 years - specifically the Diablo Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. i own my home, financially secure and foot loose and fancy free now!!
i love to travel and am proud to say I have been in all but two of our 50 states. I like road trips particularly the back roads touring the countryside and exploring new points of interest. Cruising is something I really like to do - have been to Alaska, Panama Canal and twice to the Caribbean. i would like to sail the Mediterranean Sea. My first time abroad was last year in time for the Royal Wedding then to Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and ending with two weeks in Paris. An awesome trip that whets my appetitie for more of the same. I have been to Mexico and Canada several times - very interested in a rail trip across the Canadian Rockies - all aboard?
My career track included Banking, public school administration, consulting and a part-time job in retail sales at the request of a friend. I liked this stint as my college major was retail merchandizing and, yes, I am a "clothes horse"!! Extracirricular activities found me in many leadership roles with professional and service-based organizatiions. Public education was my longest track - 29 years and 29 days!!! i was the director of the Child Nutrition Program for 17 years then promoted to business manager for the final twelve. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! However retirement has much to offer and I want to make the most of it with someone special.
My friends will tell you that I am the "New 60" full of fun and spirit. They will also tell you that I am honest, trustworthy, organized, thrifty, efficient and out-going. i will tell you that I am genuine - no pretenses - great sense of humor (like to tease and be teased),
loving and lovable and have a great smile!!!
ABOUT HIM. He should be kind, considerate, well-mannered, groomed, confident and responsible for his actions. Ideally we will function on the same intellectual and emotional levels and enjoy good conversation. A gentleman that opens doors, removes his hat when required and does not use his cell phone when dining! Physical attributes would include over 6' tall in order to complement my height, weight under control, healthy and energetic. I prefer clean-shaven but will not rule out a mustache or modest beard. Hopefully some hair but bald can be handsome too! Most important - a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile that lights up his face. He know how to dress for the occasion and takes proud in his appearance. A man that knows how to treat a woman and expects the same in return.
