Date a soulmate from San Diego, United States. Where to start? I'm a mild-manered and easy-going guy who likes to enjoy life to its fullest. I've lived in many different countries and regions within the US, but consider myself a San Diegan at heart on the account that I've spent the last 17 years here. On one hand I'm a fit and active person who enjoys adventure and trying out new experiences. I got into snow boarding last year, and absolutely fell in love with it. I'm an avid mountain biker with lots of experience riding some of the most technical trails in SoCal. I've also tried sky-diving and white-water rafting. So you can definitely say that I have a thrill-seeking side. By the same token, I'm equally pleased with having dinner with a friend over easy conversation, or spending time at home - cooking a meal on the grill, having a glass of red wine, and watching a good movie.
I subscribe to the "work hard/play hard" motto as I'm known to spend long hours at the office where I work as a Quality professional for one of the big biotech firms in town. My career is a top priority in my life, but I definitely make the weekends count after a long workweek. Whether it's taking a trip to Santa Barbara to hit the wineries, checking out the local Famers Market, or mountain biking in the San Bernardino mountains, I don't have any trouble finding fun things to do on the weekends.
My dog Dharma is a huge part of my life. I try to incorporate her in my activities as much as possible. Depending on the day, you might even see us jogging up and down Torrey Pines Rd. or the Solana Beach Coastal Trail. I get a lot of pleasure from interacting with my dog as she's a sharp and active Australian Shepherd who keeps me on my toes. Dharma is known affectionately by friends and neighbors for her characteristic howl. It would be great if you like dogs!
Writing Yelp Reviews is a hobby of mine that I take pride in doing as I like to keep the community posted on what's hot and what's not. Movie-wise and music-wise, I'm a big fan of Netflix/Amazon Video and Pandora/Spotify/XM Radio as media sources. In terms of musical taste, I have a wide interest range but tend to gravitate towards the alternative and electronic genres (chill and dance). For movies, comedies are my favorite but I do also enjoy a good thriller or drama. TV shows that I'm currently watching are Mad Men, The Big Bang Theory, Californication, and Penn&Teller's BullSh*t . Some of my other interests include hiking, discovering red wines, grilling, checking out new restaurants, coffee shops, and breakfast places in town, and traveling.
In terms of life philosophy, I'm a big proponent of quality over quantity, doing the right thing vs. the expedient thing, and letting whatever it is you're doing happen in its natural course. That being said, I'm not a stick in the mud either. I'm spontaneous and silly at times. I enjoy a good sense of humor and can laugh at myself. You can't take yourself too seriously after all.

I am kind of shy. I am originally from Minnesota. I grew up in a small town in the country. I am not your typical San Diego guy. I am fairly passive and easy going. People sometimes think I am too nice for my own good. Maybe that is a Minnesota trait.
I am really open minded and non judgemental. You can tell me just about anything it. I have never done any drugs, but I had friends who did. I would prefer to stay away from people like that now.
I don't really have a good filter when I am talking about things. I tend to make jokes about things that I sometimes shouldn't. Sometimes it is hard to tell if I am joking because it seems like I am being serious when I say something ridiculous, but I always follow it up with a laugh or a smile so you know I was just trying to be funny.
Just to give an idea of my tastes, some of my favorite movies are Dr. Strangelove, The Princess Bride, Brazil, Wild at Heart, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blue Velvet, 12 Monkeys, Buffalo 66, Some of my favorite music is 10,000 Maniacs, Bright Eyes, Cat Power, The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Johnny Cash, Mazzy Star, Social Distortion, The Pixies, Sinead O'Connor, and The Smiths.
I like to go out sometimes on the weekends. I love to see live bands. Live Irish music is my favorite, even though I am not Irish. If I drink beer, it is usually an IPA. I would like to diversify a little, so if you have any great ideas for entertainment besides bars or clubs, I am open to suggestions.

I'm a down to earth person. Love movies and books. Educated and intelligent yet not pretentious. I have an athletic build but don't kill myself working out. I guess you could say I care how I look but it does not border on vanity. I'm a jeans and t shirt guy, but clean up ok. I may look preppy, but I've had shoulder length hair. (When it got to record company pony tail length, I cut it). Work had gotten to be too big a part of my life, I needed to step back. Money is great, the vehicle to fuel your dreams. But at this point, I aspire to bigger things.
I am wholesome without being a boy scout. I live for playing with my nieces and nephews, and have lots of them. It's very important to me to handle and carry myself like a gentleman (without being boring or a wuss).

Weather permitting, I surf every single day. The fact that you can't be in the water after it rains here is upsetting.
I don't trust people who are not moved by music, and I like all types, from Jam bands and classic Rock (71 phish shows) to Hip Hop, Jazz RB. I am happiest accomplishing something. I am more competitive than I'd like at times, but it's served me well. I love to make people laugh and have a cutting wit that sometimes gets me in trouble. I'm the son of a former New England Patriot and a bartender from back in the day (Stay classy mom and dad!!). I grew up and went to high school in Boston and then fled the scene for tropical weather and california sunshine as soon as i possibly could! haha
I own a home in Sunset Cliffs and have two amazing dogs that are truly my best friends. I took a break from the SD area last Fall and drove with the pups across the country. We spent 5 months living in New England and visiting with friends and family in the area that I haven't spent alot of time with over the years. It was an awesome experience and somewhat of a spiritual odyssey for us as we stopped in 15 different cities along the way as we looped around America. The next odyssey for this crew is getting back into a work routine and finding a girl who is fun to hang out with who has a similar outlook on life.

Yes it’s expensive; yes it’s annoying that somehow the Kardashians usually are the lead “news” story on the local stations every night! In spite of the fact that Hollywood runs the state and taxes suck! I can’t imagine myself anywhere else! Being an avid runner, fly fisherman and golfer San Diego’s active lifestyle suits me well! I just finished running my 6th Marathon in February of this year and am waiting to see if I get chosen in the lottery to run in the NYC Marathon again this coming November. In my spare time, I have a good group of friends that enjoy attending concerts (PS… 80’s concerts are my favorite :), tailgating for football games and meeting up for BBQ's. As far as what I'm looking for hmmmm??? This gets a little trickier because most women start trying to read into things to much!
