During the past 71 years I have kept physically fit by going to the gym several times per week, bicycling, skiing, camping, and taking long walks along the beach and the hills. I truly enjoy living in Southern California as it allows me to do more things in one day than any place in the world. I have traveled extensively in the States and overseas, lived in the Orient, Australia and Canada. I went to London and Spain in 2001, Rome and China in 2002, Spain, Paris,Portugal, France; and Hawaii in 2003. Visited Sicily 2004; Hong Kong during 2004, London, Cancun and Canada in 2006. Machu Piccu and Galapagos Islands in 2007. Pureto Rico, France, Brussels, Luxembourg and Germany in 2009. in 2010 I visited Guatemala, Hawaii, NYC and Ireland. Went on Safari in August 2011, Amsterdam and Berlin.
Cooking and entertaining are some of the things I enjoy, designed my kitchen to permit everybody to congregate there. Enjoy talking and laughing with friends, or a special person, as we sip a glass of wine by the fireplace. In the background you would hear jazz or easy listening music playing. During these growing years I have been an architect, engineer, property manager and owned my own home building company. I just retired as a senior level administrator with a large school district in Orange County. I am one of those really forunate individuals who absolutely enjoyed his profession. I trained the first two groups of LA paramedics and EMTs and set up many emergency departments in southern California. I practiced for 30 years doing family practice, emergency medicine and surgery. I was a consultant for the medical board of California and expert witness for the State of California in Court. I was rated in the top 1% in results of patient care. I work part time in the low income areas to provide quality care since there it is lacking.
I am active and have much input in an international humanitarian trust to improve life and healthcare in areas where it is needed in 3rd world countries like the soon to be USA. The difficult I can do right away; the impossible takes a little longer.

Two of my most deeply felt art experiences happened at the Cloisters in a little room where they have one of the first oil paintings on view (late 15th Century) and at the Frick where I viewed my first in person Vermeer.A third art-full event happened in 1965, as I was hitching across the country after getting out of the Army (drafted), having spent a glorious time 900 miles from the North Pole (Thule , Greenland), and entering a museum in Chicago (believe it was the Chicago Art Institute).There on one wall was a Jackson Pollock that knocked my socks off, and it was across from "The Grande Jatte", by Seurat: talk about a double whammy!!!!
I enjoy the comedy of Louis Black and the satire/comedy of John Stewart, Colbert, and Maher, which leads back to Lenny Bruce and to Mark Twain (of all people). I've enjoyed the annual VisualAid Big Deal Show in November quite a few years. Made some good purchases and had a great time with fellow art lovers(and done some good for the Aids fight).
Saw a recent movie on cable that might show how varied my taste might be: "Zombieland". It was excellent, rules and all. Rule #32: enjoy the little things. And I still enjoy Godard ,Fellini, Bergman, Bertollucci, and Bresson.

. Had several careers including aerospace engineer, management consultant, math professor, hardware store owner, and real estate broker. Off all these I enjoyed real estate the best, not only for the economnic opportunities presented but for working directly with interesting people. I am now simi-retired and work about 2 - 3 hours a day doing property management. This gets me out of the house and my mind occupied on other things and I enjoy it. Problems slide off my back very easily and I just solve them and don't worry about them. I was married for 33 years before my wife passed away and I thoroughly enjoyed the closeness, companionship, and sharing. Being "semi-retired" gives me an opportunity to play bridge several times a week.
I like talking to each other, sharing things, doing things together, caring for each other, worrying about each other, and being happy for each other when thing go right and consoling each other when things go wrong.
My idea of a relaxing life in retirement is sharing with a loved one; a hug and a kiss, fixing a gourmet dinner together (usually with a good wine), relaxing and chatting about anything and everything, bike riding during the day, going for a boat ride during the eveninhg or weekends, watching the sun go down over the ocean, seeing a play or visiting a museum or art show, traveling a little, or just reading and watching some TV together. Just enjoying the benefits of many years of hard work.

. Hello ladies,If you have been on this site for more than several months and have had no luck in finding the right guy you might want to consider someone like myself. I might be 71, but I don't look, think or act like I'm that age. My brain tells me I'm still in my 30s and I'm a good catch for any women that is sick and tired of having younger guys playing mind games, lying, cheating or wanting you to provide for them! No women should have to put up with nonsense like that, because it's just so wrong and I know that there are plenty of men out there that think the same way as me, but it's a big job finding someone like myself and you will just have to try me and see if being treated right for a change is something that you enjoy. Also if your tired of being in a financial bind all the time. Security is what I can offer along with a lot of fun along the way. My friends and family consider me as someone that they can count on in any kind of emergency or need of help. There are things in life that I want to do, but I need someone that is Compatible to do things with. loneliness is something that I'm not used to and is not for me!. I have had many unusual and interesting experiences in my life and could keep you amused with many true tales and experiences that i have encountered. Trust is very important to me and I hate people that lie.I'm a very easy person to get to know and feel comfortable being around. I can keep a conversation going and enjoy making people laugh. I don't want or need a one night stand. I'm on this site looking for the right women to share the rest of my life with in a long term serious relationship or even marriage.
