I grew up on the East Coast and joined the Navy where spent 12 years, during which time I received a college degree and became an officer and presumably a gentleman. I am very proud of my 25 year old son who after graduating from collage now lives in New York.

My first position took me back to NYC, but, hooked on the beauty and culture of the Bay Area, I returned and have lived and worked here since 1979. I've been blessed with wonderful students and superb colleagues, major reasons why I remain enthusiastic about my work.
Western European cultures and languages, especially those of France, Italy, Germany, and Spain, have enriched my life. Travel to those countries is a treat that never fails to delight and inspire. For a change, in 2008 I visited India. It was a eye-opening experience that made me want to return. I prefer 19th-century classical music and opera, but also enjoy fado, flamenco, and jazz, e.g., Monk, Miles, the MJQ, Horace Silver, and Gerald Clayton. Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Wagner, Mahler, "Lucia," "Tosca," "Der Rosenkavalier," "Die Fledermaus," and "The Ring" are my favorite composers and operas. A trip to NYC, Paris, Rome, or Madrid feels incomplete without visiting their great museums, soaking in the cityscape, and interacting with locals about everyday life. Great architecture appeals to me, not just aesthetically, but because of the convivial public spaces some buildings afford. I read widely, slowly but with pleasure, mostly on subjects not directly related to my work. I work out several times a week, bike between home and work, and explore SF on weekends, visiting friends, going to farmers' markets, attending concerts, visiting museums, walking from Fort Mason to the Golden Gate, exploring neighborhoods and small shops, and enjoying congenial cafes and ethnic restaurants. The ocean, light, fresh air, open spaces, and animals are important to me. I strive to live each day well; to look, listen, smell, and touch attentively, be open-minded and positive, engage in lively conversation, and help others.
I seek to connect with an intelligent, sensitive, fit, and affectionate woman of rich sensibility who loves the arts deeply, cherishes the little things of everyday life, and has a sense of humor, good taste, and a cosmopolitan outlook. With such a woman, I would like to build a fulfilling future.

I'm an animal lover, especially dogs. I have two. Kieth and Ozzie.Kieth is the white dog in the picture of me standing up and Ozzie is the brown dog with his tongue hanging out. They are both former Mexican street dogs.The two dogs on my lap are both gone but not forgotten. (Lulu and Jim). I try to help the less fortunate dogs in any way that I can. Loving dogs is a must for my future mate.
I am above average in health and take no prescription or OTC meds. I practice self healing whenever I can but am not a fanatic. Their are times when Doctors and/or hospitals come in handy. My self healing is self taught. I eat healthy most of the time. I can't remember the last time that I ate at a fast food joint. I would like to have a walking partner. I lack discipline in that department. Maybe you could walk with me. My only physical limitation is a double knee replacement. My Doctor says no running or bike riding but I can walk til the cows come home without getting short of breath.
I also have a medium case of Androgenetic Alopecia.
I was born and raised in Michigan but consider my self a Californian since I moved here in 1966 and was stationed in Camp Pendleton for a couple of years while in the Marine Corps. I mainly lived in the San Fernando and Simi Valleys. I currently live in Rosarito. I was a cop in Detroit but did not make it a career I was a salesman most of my working life. Although technically I'm retired, I'm an entrepreneurial type person and will always have something in the fire..
