I enjoy doing things and being active. That’s when I feel the most “alive.” Typically that’s getting out and doing something like surfing, running, riding, skiing, sailing or something I’ve never done before. I don’t take a day for granted. And I do it because I love it and it makes me feel good. I also love adventure travel. Some of the best experiences I’ve ever had are when I’m traveling.
I’m very close to my family. I have a mother and two brothers who I am very close to (my father passed some time ago). I have a two-year old black lab named Johnny Cash, who goes with me everywhere. And I mean everywhere. I am blessed to have many great friends who I have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with since I was a kid.
I would be the first to admit that my job used to define me. I guess that’s part of being a man. But I try not to let that happen anymore. I constantly fight for balance. I am an entrepreneur at heart and I enjoy growing a business. I have a consulting business that services financial advisors and the insurance industry. I love what I do. And I believe that can make a huge difference in your attitude and outlook on life. I can work from anywhere in the world where I have cell service and wi-fi.
Other key personality traits…I am a gentleman. I never “mail it in.” My friends can always count on me. I do what I say. Every day I try to simplify my life. A positive attitude goes a long way. I’m not a fan of negativity or drama. I have a sense of adventure. I love to cook (and I’m pretty good at it). Oh! And I like good wine too!
