Growing up on an island, being near water is very pleasant and soothing to me. Good friends are very important. I love to cook, share a glass of wine and a good meal with interesting conversation. Working in my yard, puttering around the house, reading a good book, watching a movie or taking a walk along the bay are things I enjoy. I have several hobbies including painting so I like staying busy, but I have no problem sitting back and enjoying quite time.
Good music is something I really enjoy and it can vary with my mood. I have actually been taking ball room dancing lessons lately, not that I will ever be a Ginger Rogers, but it is a great activity and a way to be around others that like to dance and enjoy music. Recently I have begun attempting the Argentina Tango, quite a challenging, fun experience. I also like to put on my ear phones and get lost in the music that picks up my pace while exercising. Or just enjoy the wind in my hair with a ride on my bicycle.
I have three children all grown, married and have families. They live on three different coasts which gives me the opportunity to visit with them and enjoy New York, San Francisco, and the Gulf. We don't spend a lot of time together but we are very close and I am very proud of their accomplishments. They have done a wonderful job with my grandchildren which of course I think are very special.
Travel can be fun, however, I have traveled a lot over the years and I prefer to plan ahead and take specific trips. One of the places that I would like to visit sometime in the future is the northern coast of Ireland. The stone rings have always been intriguing and I would enjoy an Irish pub. There is a cruise that leaves the coast and visits the Greek ruins which I think would be really interesting. My children have arranged a place in the Pocono's in August so I will enjoy the hiking and water falls for a few days.
Life is good, I still enjoy my work Monday thru Thursday, but the three day weekends are mine to enjoy. I am comfortable in my life, enjoy good friends but it would be very nice to meet a special friend to share good times.
