I find myself contemplating the universe on a daily basis, furthering my motivations to seek things out for myself. At times I find myself overwhelmed when I walk into the library, thinking 'where do I start? there is so much knowledge to be had'. I often find myself reading up to three books at a time.

Meet someone special from Colorado, United States. A little about me - I recently graduated college (2011) where I studied Economics, Philosophy, and Business Administration. I'm now working as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in Denver. Through AmeriCorps, I work in a nonprofit which is doing great work in the sector and across other sectors. I lived in Kolkata, India for 4 months studying Hindu philosophy and religion as well as volunteering as a teacher in an all-girls boarding school for disadvantaged youth. I don't know if I want to work in nonprofits forever and I think a person can live a social-justice oriented life in the for-profit world, especially in research. I'm very science-oriented and have a deep respect and passion for the way scientists teach us more about our world every day. Specifically, the scientist Carl Sagan is one of my heroes because of the care he showed for the fate of all living beings. I have been a vegetarian for three years. I have many reasons, but most strongly because I believe that causing suffering of another being, particularly one which has no chance to defend itself, is indefensible. I train 5 days a week in mixed martial arts (jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, muy thai). Grappling has helped me to lose any ego I had, since I confront my weakness and inability daily when being submitted by a more talented opponent or training partner.
What I'm looking for - I want to meet interesting, respectful, positive people who can introduce me to new places, ideas, and experiences (or just give me a new perspective on old places and experiences). I'm not in a rush to be in a relationship but am definitely not opposed to one. I don't tend to value the "we're official" Facebook-esque approach to relationships where we have to label everything. I love the outdoors and traveling. Most weekends I will be hiking, camping, or snowboarding in the winter. However, I do like going out downtown for drinks as well. Also, I am a huge music fan and enjoy going to concerts from time to time.
