Date a woman from United States. I moved to this area to be near my family. I have lived in PA, FL, HI, CA, and Spain.
I have a positive attitude about most things and enjoy sharing laughter. So the person I'm looking for also needs to have a positive attitude and to have a sense of humor. Honesty and being trustworthy are at the top of the list, too.
I like to go places and do "things", as well as staying at home, listening to music, watching TV/movies, or working on various projects (mainly quilting). Last year I was fortunate enough to have had my 4th quilted wall hanging chosen to travel around the US and Canada for 13 months for a national fabric company.This year I designed a handbag for the same contest and it was chosen to be in the show.... I love going to the beach, lakes, and natural settings, as well as going to plays and museums, or exploring new cities and towns. I can cook but haven't been doing much cooking for the last few years. Cooking for one isn't much fun.
My friends all say how "sweet" I am.I haven't figured out exactly what "sweet" is, yet .. I even have 2 daughter-in-laws that love me. Is that a first??
Divorce came after 24 years... about 3 years after that, I entered into a relationship of 15 years. Due to his health issues (smoking), he urged me to come back to Calif., to be near my family. I sold my house, quit my job, and left my friends, after living in FL for 19 years.
I've had a rescue dog for over a year now, after having only cats for over 20 years.
I'm looking for someone, who has his own interests, but can at least "pretend" to be interested in whatever I'm doing. The "honesty" can slip a little, there... I can do that, too. I've gone fishing and not fished and I'm good at browsing in sporting goods stores, as well as hardware stores, (I've even bought fabric for quilting at a boating supply store!) and I spend a lot of time in Home Depot and Lowe's, as I'm fixing up my "new to me" house, slowly but surely.
I went to my high school class reunion in PA. What fun!!! It was like Halloween without the masks! Conversations with people I haven't seen for 50 years. I kept thinking that was a typo, but it wasn't : ( Someone would ask, "Who are you, again?... Oh, yes! You haven't changed a bit!!!"
I don't think my classmates knew my sense of humor back then. Maybe I didn't either. : )
