I like my partner to be happy to take things a little slow at first. I get along best with people who can see my value and aren't afraid to let me know it. I really like longer hair, but if it's stringy and greasy looking, that's a real turn-off. So, if you can't take care of your teeth and hair--you can't take care of me. . I am a native of Yuma, Arizona, but I have traveled quite a bit and plan to continue roaming the globe. I am 52, a widow, and the mother of a daughter, stepmom to a daughter and son and grandmother to six grandchildren (who are all perfect, of course!)
I grew up in Yuma, riding horses, camping with my family, fishing, swimming, playing softball, gardening, playing music on the piano and clarinet and raising a menargerie of pets on our family farm.
Now I work at the Post Office (for 17 years now) and creatively write when not working. I still have a house full of animals (1 boxer dog from the Humane Society and a cat adopted from my vet who was trying to find a home for her.)
I am in good health but recently had lap-band surgery for weight loss and have lost 35 of the 100 pounds I want to lose, so I am still large at present. My goal is to lose enough weight to ride horses, hike, fish, camp, swim, go boating, snorkel and travel even more. I want to live a more active life and teach my grandchildren to ride horses and enjoy the outdoors too. Also, I don't know how to dance but would love to learn.
I love history and learning too, and enjoy broadening my horizons with classes online and at our local community college. I have attended Arizona Western College, Northern Arizona University and UCLA online as well as taking screenwriting classes at the Academy of Film Writing with Nicholl's Fellowship winner Max Adams.
I also enjoy watching sports on television and in person. I am a train fanatic as well and have taken Amtrak trips all over the U.S. My dad was an engineer with the Southern Pacific Railroad for 34 years. He also worked in Hollywood as a stunt double training horses so I love to ride, and also write screenplays because of my dad.
I have been widowed for two years now after 14 years with a dear, sweet husband who was a joy to be married too. I think I am ready to start living my life again and want to find a playmate to have fun, keep it light and simple and romp around the globe with.
I am easy going and love humor, but drama and fighting distresses me and I avoid unhappy, negative people. Someone who loves life, likes to travel and have fun will be the guy for me.
