I like to challenge myself both physically and mentally. Therefore, I like to hike, go on camping adventures, attend sporting events and I like to play sports (golf currently has much of my attention) as well. But I also like to go concerts and plays at the Gaslight Theater. I'm not a voracious reader but a good adventure or mystery novel stimulates me. I could read Lonesome Dove again and again and again.

My accomplishments are numerous but I would rather not write about them in public. Let's just say that I have positively impacted the lives of thousands of kids which is probably most important. Plaques and awards are great but not as important as bringing out the best in people.
I am grateful for my two wonderful children. I loved every minute of being a father and now I am proud of them as they have become wonderful parents. Also, I am grateful for my health and ability to be active.
My social life? Hmmmm, I play alot of golf, hang out with my golf friends at the 19th hole, and come home to watch a ball game and pick out some songs on my guitar. I love music but really have no clue about what I'm doing. I probably need some lessons but I find great satisfaction in succeeding at something on my own. I like to cook and try different things but I definitely need a woman's touch in that category. I have graduated from the school of Top Ramen though!!!
I suppose that if my social life was top shelf, I wouldn't be searching for that beautiful and lovely woman that is out there somewhere.
Okay.....the things that I like to do the most. Too many to completely mention but here are a few: Love to sit on a mountainside with some good binoculars in my hands. Fishing the Black River (in the White Mts.....figure that one out!) is a blast, and watching the full moon rise over the mountains is spectacular. Give me a glass of tasty Merlot, some salmon for the grill, a fiery sunset and a wonderful woman to share it with. What could be better?

I'm not your typical match.com profile; I'm not much into sports and my list of movies or favorite books is quite short, but my appreciation and love for Wagner's "Ring" cycle, Beethoven's piano sonatas, and Brahms' "A German Requiem" speak volumes about what moves me. A unique combination of pianist, astronomer and non-religious, it takes some time for my inner qualities to unfold. I am a believer in giving people the opportunity to open up and share themselves with me before making a judgment about whether we might fit; I hope that a prospective partner will do the same for me.

I am enlightened enough to appreciate when a woman shows interest, and am actually very flattered when asked out. Of course, there's an element of physical attraction to each relationship, and I will admit that how a woman dresses is usually what catches my eye. After that, though, it is really her personality that will keep my interest. A woman who is dependable is attractive to me, and I notice whether someone's' actions match their words. Consistency in sentiment is important to me as well, as is someone who understands that it takes a bit of time to get to know someone and won't make a snap judgment based on photos or a few snippets of information alone.
I find it unrealistic to describe every single characteristic of my "perfect" partner, because there are so many different factors that combine to produce the chemistry that is necessary to continue that initial spark. What I can tell you is that my ideal partner enjoys dressing up for a night on the town, takes pride in her appearance, is gentle, sweet and extremely feminine. While I sometimes appreciate an outgoing nature, excess aggressiveness is not a trait I find myself attracted to.
I wish to be with someone who has the capacity to both give and receive affection. I believe that all relationships--romantic or not--flourish when based on equal partnership. To me that applies to making plans and overtures as well. I may be a man, but I do like knowing someone is interested enough to initiate something!
