Lets see- one of my best freinds in Denver has used match.com for a while and has been really impressed by the people he has met so he talked me into it (so has my son!). Since I live in a small resort town (Vail area) and won't deal with the bar/club scene much anymore I guess I will try this- who knows! I have lived here in the Vail Valley for nearly 20 years and truly love it here- I came for the skiing and have been involved in the ski/sport industry much of this time. If anything mountain and road biking are almost as much fun to me as skiing and I ride almost every day- if I can. I also hike, camp, play tennis, golf, rock climb, etc. anything outdoors. I love to travel, been all over and have much more to see still. I am a great cook and love to go out- movies, dinner, road trips and all- anything edgy and fun. I?ve had a rich life where I?ve had the chance to embrace different adventures, cultures and excursions involving kayaking, mountaineering, climbing and sailing and such. I welcome the chance to embrace this next season with a partner. While I look forward to slowing down a bit and take in more mellow pursuits I am not into watching sports. I'd rather be out there playing than inside watching someone else have all the fun....
As I find myself pulling back from the high adrenaline activities of late I welcome a more civilized approach to adventures. A cultural expedition or a trip into the promised-land could be just as exciting and intriguing as kayaking down the Grand Canyon or sailing across the Indian Ocean. If you would rather stay in the wilderness I'd be game to canoe the Boundary Waters or the Everglades. Or if you like giving back I'd enjoy going on another mission-type trip or service project.....
While I am not quite as gung-ho for doing physically-challenging adventures as i used to, I do hope I'll find opportunities to heli-ski or explore more of the Canyonlands or even learn to para-glide---does this sound like slowing down? Okay, maybe I'm just after savoring those moments more deeply. But I do like being a goof ball too....
I enjoy being engaged with a faith community, studying the Bible, exploring issues of faith, going on missions, etc. Last year I went down to argentina and helped out with a mission trip and the witchie people. we built a playground for the displacrd children as well as brought some doctors and nurses with us. wonderful experience.
I watch some TV at night.....Charlie Rose and Nightline are common interests for me along with NPR on the Radio.... I like considering different perspectives and hearing about the human condition.
I'm looking forward to meeting someone who is kind and even-tempered but has an adventurous spirit or at least a curious nature. If you find it easy to open up and to talk into the night that's a bonus. I've been accused of being a conversationalist who finds it easy to listen to a good tale.
