I retired and knew I had to return to arizona which I did in 2001. I love the outdoors and knew Arizona was where I needed to be.
I live a very healthy lifestyle, love to eat great foods from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, love to hike, walk, bike, swim and just be outside. I also enjoy the variety of great dining options here in the Valley, most of which offer healthy options. While I enjoy Lon's, The Sanctuary, El Charro's and other fine restaurants, I also like other small, unique places such as Effey's. I especially like places that have live music such as John Henry's and Gainey Ranch. I know there are many others but those two came to mind.
As you can tell from my photos, I have 3 grown and educated daughters of whom I'm extremely proud. Two live in Oklahoma and one in Kansas. I also have 2 wonderful grandkids that are in the photos as well.
Having played college baseball at Kansas University, I still enjoy the excitement of college baseball. I go every year to Omaha for the college World Series, meeting up with my buddies from Lawrence, Kansas who played ball with me. Last year I took my daughters and grandkids to Omaha to share with me the joy I find in this terrific and fun event. Its almost like being in New Orleans for Mardi Gra.
I also have season tickets to ASU baseball and attend as many home games as reasonably possible, and always having my bag of popcorn when I first arrive at the park.
I have many and varied interests from dining out, to movies, music and dancing (very limited capabilities here!!), reading a wide variety of books and magazines from Men's Health to Glamour!! Yes, I love the stories!! I've become well versed in diet, health and general lifestyle issues and enjoy discussing these topics. Since I retired, I now manage my stock portfolio and my investments in oil and gas. Not as much fun recently but still needs attention.
I am educated with 3 degrees. My B.S. is from Kansas in the biological sciences. I have an MBA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. My Ph.D. is from ASU in marketing, finance and management accounting.
As I mentioned earlier, I love sports and was an All State and All American in football and baseball and was recruited to play at many different universities. I chose Kansas because I was from Lawrence and it was nice to go where I was known, wanted and it was FREE!!! Given all this, I'm not a couch potato or a sports nut. I watch games on TV almost exclusively during the playoffs. March Madness is one of those times.
I hope to find a partner to spend the rest of my life with, someone who enjoys the simple things in life..the sunsets, conversation with a nice glass of wine, listening to music, going out for dinner or fixing dinner together at home, going to movies, concerts, plays and other cultural activities.
