DISCLAIMER: I'm really only 5' 9' but so many of the nicest ladies seem to like 5"10" or taller that I decided to fib. I’ll fill you in on all of the details about my life and love life later but if you can understand the following little story you will know what my real life’s relationship goal is, and always has been:
Many years ago I was in Kansas and my future best friend, invited me to go to dinner with a couple he had known earlier in his army career. When we arrived at their home I saw that they had four children ranging in ages from about age twelve to infant. The wife (whose name escapes me, I’m sorry to say) was a Phillippina and a very lovely woman. My point in this description is to set up the situation. The thing that most impressed me that evening was that no time throughout the rest of the night did that woman lose physical connection with her husband, literally. It wasn’t obnoxious or annoying or even noticeable if a person wasn’t paying attention. What became obvious to me was that she really loved him and it made her happy and comfortable to be clingy like that even after all of those kids and years together. I have never had that feeling with a woman even until today. It must be wonderful to have a person so enthralled by you that the touch of your flesh gives her comfort. That’s what I’m looking for. I remember watching them that night and while he was mostly oblivious to her connection he would probably have sensed it if it wasn’t there. Well, that’s what I’m searching for. I’m a hard guy, I’ve had a challenging and difficult life but now that I’ve finally dropped my own personal mantle of leadership and sacrifice I am looking for that relationship. That doesn’t mean some, robotic response, what it means is finding a woman who respects my history and wants to share my future. I deeply need tenderness and love. Do you feel like giving it a shot? I’m trying hard not to ever be a jerk ever again and I really pay attention to any woman willing to spend the time it takes to tell me where her personal “mine fields” are. I never want anyone who gives me their time to feel as if they are being abused or condescended upon. I have been a classic, natural warrior, opinionated, assertive and forceful. But now, in the peaceful time of my life, I’m looking for a loving and caring companion. Someone who still finds the fire in my eyes and belly exciting, but is patient enough to wait for it to subside so she can get her loving and sensitive man back again. I don’t have very much baggage, nothing intolerable. I have been in Phoenix since Spring of 2006. I decided to retire here and hang out with my 89 year old father for the rest of his life. Sadly that turned out to be much too short a time as he passed at the end of October that year. I am still only starting to create real friends here. Without a job most of the people I meet are waiters, waitresses, bartenders and store clerks. I’m sure that will change eventually because I’m very gregarious and like people. In my life I have had hundreds of acquaintances and a very, very few friends. I like it that way.
One thing about me, I'm not very hard to find. The last three letters of my name are men. Simple huh?
This is a pretty generic message even though parts of it are quite personal. I’ll get much more personal if I connect with you. I guarantee that you will find my history to be a fairly interesting and exciting tale.
I will always be as truthful as possible. There's no reason in the world for deceiving someone and it forces you to have such a good memory.

. I am grateful for my health and the ability to see things that others so often miss. I notice most everything. I have a great sense of situational awareness and enjoy pointing out the little but unique details that so many miss. Sometimes it is watching people move through life and the things they do and say. Sometimes it is the bird calling in the distance and sometimes it is just the breathless wonder of creation. Even if you do not believe in creation, it is still an awesome planet we live on. The worst thing we can do is miss what is there for us to enyoy. We all have ups and downs but it is important that we do not stay down and find something that makes life worth while.I love the outdoors and enjoy animals,birds and all of nature.It is so easy to relax when you stop to look at creation. I am always pointing out things to others that are of interest. I have had moments in nature that I wished I could bottle up and take out and enjoy and share whenever I wanted. That is not possible so I have become very good at sharing the beauty in the world. Whenever I am out and about and in a new area, I always have to go around the next corner in case there is something wonderful to see. I not only find this in nature but I enjoy people watching. Sometimes the littlest thing can be so moving. I very much enjoy music and find myself being moved to the point of tears over some lyrics. I also like to write poems or at least do rhymes and add my own lyrics to songs. Some good and some not so good. I think love is a wonderful thing and it has been said that Love covers a multitude of sins. When you care for someone, it is so easy to overlook the little things that really don't mean much. I am looking for someone who believes that there could be something special around the next corner and never tires of looking for wonderment. I would like someone who does not take themself so serious that they are not willing to take a chance. Someone once said that our job as a Christian was to kiss frogs. Some turn into handsome princes or lovely princesses and some remain frogs but we need to keep kissing frogs. Life is meant to be enjoyed and I would love to find someone who has not given up just because we have a little gray hair and maybe things on our body are not where they used to be. I have a 6 pack that has gotten out of the carton a little or a lot but think that we sometimes rule people out for some of the pettiest reasons. I am 66 and not ready to give up on life and the belief that there are still people who have values and romance is an exciting prospect. I have never done this before but life is a gamble and the only winners are those who stay in the game. I would like to find someone who believes first that they are special and second, that there are people that could bring a special something into their life. The one trait that I especially look for is honesty. I have a hard time with role playing and situations where I am supposed to give the right answer or at least the one you want to hear. I am not a mind reader and hints do not work with me. I would rather a straight-up answer to a situation and all be acountable for who we are.
