Meet a soulmate from Troy, United States. I have dark hair and eyes, stand 6 feet tall, and weigh about 195 lbs. Some have called me handsome... but there's no accounting for taste. I'm single, having learned sooner rather than later that none of my relationships would be 'the' relationship (but I do have more friends now). I have two graduate degrees, and earned my way through school. I'm not wealthy, and have no desire to be so; but I am debt-free/comfortable. To me, family and friends are the only things of true value. Honesty, intelligence, civility, common sense, and wit are some of the traits that I value most in people. My interests are many and varied. I like the outdoors: golf, camping/hiking,biking, etc., but I'm not a hunter/fisherman type. I also like to read, play cards/board games, watch a good movie, and have a few laughs over dinner. I'm a handyman/Mr. fix-it, and I give great massage. I enjoy stimulating conversation and I have more than a passing interest in history and politics. The last fiction I read was the latest Clancy novel and I am a big fan of Ansel Adams. As for the classics, my tastes tend toward the impressionists and transcendentalists. My favorite vacations have been sailing/diving in the Bahamas and backpacking in the Applachain and Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm not a dead-beat or a barfly. My sanity has never been questioned (except in jest) and my only run-ins with the law have been for traffic violations. I don't scratch myself in public and I try to remember birthdays. In general, I am content with who I am and where I am in life, but not satisfied. (does that make any sense?) The woman I am looking for is smart, funny and attractive. But then, isn't everyone? I'll try to be more specific. First, and perhaps most importantly, she is a woman of substance and character. She is independent, but not at the expense of courtesy and flexibility. She has a quick wit and a sophisticated sense of humor. Her work is important to her, and it probably involves some degree of training or skill (teacher, artist, scientist?). Her idea of entertainment includes music, creative arts and reading. She likes animals, physical exercise, outdoor activities, and the experience of new places. She dislikes vanity, pomposity and materialism. To the casual observer she may appear to have many friends; but this woman knows the difference between friends and acquaintances. She is compassionate, generous, and blessed with an abundance of insight and integrity. She has an enlightened soul. She is probably not drop-dead-good-looking, but she is not unpleasant to look at. I'm not sure about her height or hair color, but I think she has blue eyes.
