Date men from United States / Alabama / Grant, 56 year old

Date someone special from Grant, United States. I'm 56 years old, but don't think like, act like, or fell like an old man (but, as you can see from my picture, I do look like it, lol). I can wait to go places, do things, meet new and interesting people. Love pop culture, reading scifi, going to movies, concerts, plays, and of course travel. I enjoy fast cars, boats, and being creative. Never really liked to hunt, but do enjoy fishing when I can. I like camping, and enjoy being outside as much as possible. Yes, I could use much more exercise. So in a nut shell I'm a big, bald, old looking dude, who thinks he's a kid....;)
I am a deeply spiritual person, but organized religions just don't work for me. I believe God is in us, in nature, in you.... Therefore to harm another is to harm God. I believe in the good in all. Yes bad thing happen (I lost my one true love after 32 years) but it is natural and therefore Gods work. And yes, there are bad people who do very bad things, but they are sick, and need help. I refuse to define the world as evil, because of the evil in it. One bad apple does not spoil the whole bunch.
Well that little dose of "Debbie Downer" is to let you know that I am a liberal. I also love animals, I have collected several stray dogs over the years, have cats who own me, and even an aquarium full of fish. Taking care of stray animals allows me to see how kindness and caring can turn rejected and abandoned creatures into loving and loyal friends.
I am ready to look for someone to share the next 32 years of my life with. My two wonderful girls are grown. One still going to UAB, the other is a manager at a book store, but they anchor me and keep me young. I am an engineer but don't completely fit the stereotype. I enjoy engineering from the creative side not the math and rigor side.
Thanks for reading and letting me be indulgent about myself. But, what I really want is to hear your stories, get to know your beliefs, and understand the goodness you bring to this wonderful world.
So, if you want to sit up and talk all night under the stars while listening to music, let me know! If you want to take a long road trip to the mountains and sit in silence and admire Gods handy work, email! If you just want to sit in front of the fireplace, watch a good zombie movie, or play a board game, I'm good with that too!
