My son is my best friend. He is three and so much fun to be around. We tell each other our problems all the time, his is mostly about running out of juice or the fact that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse isn?t on, but I listen as best I can because you know what they say, one man?s mountain is another man?s mole hill. He does give some great advice though. It usually involves chasing after him and laughing a lot. We only get to see each other every other weekend and during the summer so I guess that?s part of why I am the way I am. Since time is limited, I try to make every single thing we do fun.
I love to grill, especially for other people. Steaks, burgers, hot dogs, fish, chicken, vegetables, you name it. I like to read about new recipes in Southern Living Magazine and experimenting on my own as well. Eating out is great too but I am not one of those people who order the same thing every time. I?ve always wondered how people who do that ever try anything new.
I?m definitely a goal driven person and a competitor. I coach high school basketball and love it because it fits me so well. My career allows me to tackle new obstacles everyday and allows me to feel the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, which I think are important aspects in life. Writing is a passion of mine, I have several books published, both fiction and nonfiction. For fun I love to be outside, hiking, paintball, pretty much anything. I also, love to watch movies, sports and listen to music. I love to build things with my hands, which I proudly got from my grandfather. I still consider myself very southern (I grew up on a peach orchard and worked at my family?s sawmill growing up) even though I have become very worldly as well (I am almost finished with my second Master?s Degree, I love traveling, and one of my greatest memories is standing on a 2000 year old Pyramid gazing over ancient Mayan ruins). I love meeting new people and have the belief you can never have too many friends.
As far as where I am going, I would like to finish a doctoral program of study (no I won?t make you call me Dr.), win a state championship, and meet the woman who can understand my need to make life an adventure and more importantly want to go on that adventure with me. If you think you may be her give me a shout. The worst thing that can happen is you meet a really good friend, and the best? Well it could be destiny.
