Date people from United States. I want to spend time with someone with unending curiousity. Someone who feels it's important to "like" someone as well as being physically attracted. A man who likes to travel, likes good conversation and respects women. I appreciate a healthy wit, but never sarcasm. Someone who doesn't force his political beliefs on others. I enjoy lively conversation, but sometimes it's nice to relax quietly together without a lot of chit-chat. I enjoy museums, galleries and story-telling festivals, dancing close and snuggling. Walking in the woods, kicking up new-fallen leaves with someone special, is an invigorating way to spend an afternoon. On rainy days, I like an overstuffed chair in front of a fire with a good book and a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of red wine. Sometimes it's fun to cook together at home and share a tasting spoon or the paddle pulled from an ice-cream freezer. I love studying history and several years ago I was one of the founders of a military museum in our community. I painted murals of a B-17 in flight, Betty Grable, raising the flag on Iwo Jima and the Times Square Kiss. I have been told I have a lively sense of humor and I enjoy a good joke, but too much raunch leaves me cold. I was married for 43 years, and while I would consider remarrying under the right circumstances, it's not on the top of my to-do list. I'm retired and have enough income to suit my needs; I'm not looking for a meal ticket or a sugar daddy. I'm not into the noisy bar scene and much prefer a mellow-lit restaurant with reasonably priced, hardy food and good conversation. I'm looking for a close friend for a fun, satisfying relationship. I attend a United Methodist Church and prefer the contemporary service. Every now and then I sleep in and miss a Sunday. I tend to be on the conservative side in my political views, but I cannot abide the rigid hypocrisy of the "far right." I have two grown children who live out-of-state and a baby granddaughter.
