My mom still lives in the house we grew up in, and I go back every winter for a month or two. There is something very therapeutic about warm Hawaiian saltwater. I played most sports as a kid, mainly surfing, skateboarding, tennis, and golf. My dad is a very good natural athlete. I had a pretty fortunate childhood, and I moved to California in 1997 after getting a bachelors degree in physics/astronomy. I taught tennis for 8 years, then almost died in an accident in 2004. I was on my bicycle when some lady drove through the back of me in her suburban doing 60mph. When I recovered, I started golf caddying at Pebble Beach & Spyglass, the best job I've ever had. I'm happiest when I'm active and in nature. I'm looking for a great girl to complete the picture. I just moved up to Irvine from San Diego after 5 years of commuting! So I'm still getting used to actually having some free time.
I was born in NY, grew up in Santa Monica, went back east for college (Yale, but don't hold it against me), moved to Paris, then back to California. That's the abridged version. For the full version, you'll have to ask me yourself..maybe over a glass of wine :)
Anyway, I'm a video games developer by trade. I really like music, martial arts, traveling, finding new restaurants, snowboarding, reading, going to see shows, museums, taking classes to learn new things, going to antique shops & swap meets.
As for what I'm looking for, I think Depeche Mode summed it up in the song "Somebody" (a song I can be persuaded to do at karaoke under the right conditions).
I really want to find someone who I just can't wait to see. Is that corny?

Sports was a huge part of my life; played college hoops; I am a phenomenal athlete and yet I don't have anytime for sports that doesn't include my boys. I can break down any sport and yet I would rather talk religion, philosophy, politics and go to a museum, concert hall or picnic at a park. I studied everything in college; but mainly philosophy and religion. My curiosity is enormous which isn't always a good thing and doesn't necessarily translate well to the bottom line. I have lived in England, Spain and France; speak Spanish fluently. Enjoy reading and writing; learning.

. I was born and raised in the Midwest. Growing up, I was a tennis player, a cellist and a mathlete, one of the many geek trifectas. In essence, I was an unwitting pawn in a cruel sociological experiment, similar to 'The Hunger Games' except instead of wielding an archery bow, I wielded a cello bow and the ability to solve math problems in group competition.
I spent the last 16 years in Texas where I earned a degree, plied my trade as an engineer and learned about frontier justice before finally moving to the Bay Area to be closer to family. My close friends would describe me as kind, generous, and easygoing. My PC challenged friends would describe me as very articulate and a surprisingly good driver. Complete strangers would describe me as Asian.
I am a big goofball at heart, but I do have a serious side as well. I am honest, genuine, and compassionate. I enjoy a good adventure whether it be traveling to a foreign country or exploring a local destination off the beaten path. Despite being an engineer, I don't really fit the stereotype. I try to be the best person I can but know that there is always room for improvement. I am in search of love, friendship and unabashed, belly aching humor.
