Date men and women from Arizona, United States. Ok, here's a little about me and who I'm looking for. I'm very centered in eastern spirituality, of the enlightenment type, non-doctrinal, Buddhism, Hinduism, etc. Long time personal growth path, but I've mostly outgrown the new-age phases. I write in my spare time on these subjects and others(both blog and for a book). I'm very interested in changing the world by adding whatever I can add to the conversation and to human self-understanding. This is the central focus in my life (not much into getting ahead, saving for retirement, spending my son's inheritance - if he had one - etc.). Like many people lately, I'm somewhat underemployed and overworked.
Who I'm looking for is someone that has similar high ideas and so can be a partner in what I'm about. Ideally she would bring to the relationship something more than just good intentions and a mixture of desirable qualities and personal needs. What that is, I'm not quite sure, so don't be put off by my high ideal stuff, just keep it in mind (meant to scare off the self-seeking users and hopeless train-wrecks). Another way of framing this is that you must be interesting and interested in something more than your life and the wins and loses there (though we all have those), and a strong spiritual base - genuine seekers and Minor Devis are welcome, but major divas are not.
I'm pretty eclectic in terms of tastes and culture, but come mostly from a strong musical background (rock and classical) and I'm an NPR geek (politically left of center), half-well read and exposed to a little of everything.
I like to cook and eat out (I'm a bit of a foodie, but not snobbish about it), movies (positive ones), blogging (with a purpose, not just what I had for dinner), hike, bike, explore, music, theater, and a raft of other things I don't do much lately/or haven't fully developed (time and money)- travel (I've been to 49 states, half of Canada, and some of Mexico), sail, fly, sports car racing (weekend warrior), volunteer, etc. FYI - I let my subscription lapse, so winks are a good first step. Sorry if I can't read any e-mails right now.

I'm not a hunter nor a sports buff (I know-weird huh?) The truth is I can usually find something to do in the garage, yard, on cars or in the house (Yes, I perform domestic duties too). The sports I actually sit down for are: winter Olympics, X-Games, some summer Olympic events like tumbling and bars, an occasional drag race and sometimes a Super Bowl (I've missed plenty). I will also comply with your request to sit and watch your favorite team, all the while aggravating you by playing with your hair, touching shoulders, feet or perhaps a caress (Yes, I may make you pay for making me sit there!) :-) I'm a great catch.
