Date people from Alabama, United States. I guess I should start out with things about me. I am going to college and have a couple semesters left and its going well and I get paid to go to school, so it’s actually fun. So if you’re wondering how I get paid to go to school, its simple, I spent 10 years in the military and now they pay for school. I gave up that career because I was a single parent and it’s too hard to raise a kid when you live in California and have no family to help. So I got out and switch to the reserves and moved back home so my son can be around family and have built in babysitter (that’s what grandparents are). So I have a 7 year old son. Between raising a kid and school I don’t get out much too met new people and figured this might be a decent way, but we will see. I am in shape and try to run at least 3 times a week and want to enter in some 10k's or something like that. I do like to do sports, go to games, movies, and outdoor things. My dream is to rent an RV for 2 weeks and just sightsee around America with my son and just explore whatever sparks or interest. I know most people want to go on vacation to other countries, but I’ve seen a lot of them and my sons too young for that right now. I don’t drink, even though I’m Irish, don’t smoke. And since I have a kid you might being wondering if there is any drama with the ex, No there isn’t and there won’t be any.
Now talking about me was a little hard, but this is going to be the hardest part, what do I won’t in a woman. I don’t have a checklist, or don’t expect perfection, because we are all humans. But here are some things that I either might want or don’t want, that might be the simplest way. A huge turn off is someone that smokes, but I can work with it if you are quitting. Even though I don’t drink, I don’t care if you do as long as you’re not a drunk. It doesn’t matter to me if you have kids or not, I’m totally open there since I have one myself. But I would like a woman that is or could be a mother, since I do want more, but that is all another conversation. Please be smart and have a good sense of humor, because if you can’t laugh then life gets boring. If you enjoy running or working out that’s a plus but not a need. I don’t have a certain type of person that I’m looking for I just know what I don’t want, but that’s why they are exs, you have to find out what you don’t want before you know what you really want, or that’s at least what I’m going to tell myself. I’m not looking for perfection, because someone’s imperfections are what makes them, them.

I must admit, I never thought I would be a part of a site quite like this, (funny how almost everyone says this) but, being 30, and having a career that requires much of my focus and time, has made it that much more difficult in finding the right person. The bar scene has gotten extremely old, and when I do get out, it seems that I don't see as many familiar faces and its becoming much more difficult to get a group of friends together on a given night. It goes without saying that I certainly miss the care-free days of college as well as the subsequent years in which there were many more single friends, and less demands stemming from work. It would be wrong to say that its all bad though, because now that I'm a bit older, I feel I have a much clearer understanding of who I am, and more importantly, who I am looking for. I've always been described as a bit mischievous, even to the point that people say I've always up to something. At the same time, through wit and a pretty immense sense of humor, I've been able to get along with about anyone, and most would describe me as easy to be around (at least I hope so). More than anything, I try to not take myself too seriously. It seems that being able to laugh at yourself is a must these days, as people seem to take themselves way too serious. One thing I really can't stand are arrogant guys that have WAY too much confidence. Nothing wrong with being confident, but if you are after the kind of guy that applies a wad of hair gel and spends more than a minute on his cookie cutter outfit that places way too much emphasis on how cute his butt looks, then I'm not what you are looking for. Again, I'm all for looking nice, but this whole metro-sexual movement has got to go. It has always been my opinion that men are not suppose to look "cute" or "pretty". How many times have you sat at the beach and thought to yourself, "wow, he really looks good in that speedo. Sure wish he would come sit on my towel"?
Anyway, back to more relevant subject matter that doesn't make my blood pressure rise, I'd say that up to the past few years of my life, it would be an understatement to say that there is never a dull moment, but, with age, I've noticed that I don't fall in quite as many traps or put myself in nearly as many precarious situations. I'm starting to see my faith deepen, and through this I've found solace in the fact that the circumstances of my life are simply adhering to a much larger plan. I know that the right person is out there, and that God has the ultimate say as to when I will find her.
