..nothing I do is vicarious, I am a participant. I was a gymnast for most of my younger sports career. I traded in gymnastics for mountain biking which I compete in the 24 hour races. I loved to kayak, however, I gave it up after I got too gripped in Westwater (outside Moab ) Hang gliding was my passion until kids came along. Not that I couldn't keep flying but there wasn't enough time to keep honed. I snowboard but did not get up much this season. I understand the sentiment that one must look and feel comfortable in their skin. I am fit and take care of my temple, I expect the person I am with to be the same. That is not shallow, just honest. She will need to know her body and mine well and want to share in the passion of discovery.
I've converted my diesel truck to vegetable oil but cannot get rid of my saab. I ride my motorcycle year around and across the country, but hate to wear a helmet. I occasionally yell at my golden retriever (incredibly well behaved dog and me the neanderthal) and then get scolded by my 12 year old. I've kept my kids up past their bedtime just because I was selfish and wanted to play with them. I cannot be a vegetarian because I grew up on wild meat and love it. I purchase my beef from a range fed all natural rancher that I know and try to convince my friends in Wyoming to give me any wild meat. I've thought about raising chickens but know they live 15 years and also know my kids would never let me eat them. I built greenhouses for the growers out in California but do not smoke (love the smell, however). I love reggae and most other music so don't let my cowboy penchant scare you. I watch the 4x4ing thing in Moab but cannot because I have a mountain bike on my car (plus no jeep). I've given my poncho to a stranger in the middle of a snow storm but not spared a dime for the person on the corner. Half of my family is artsy the other half is practical. Mmm... my mom and dad. Me, both but leaning. Love writing poetry and studying physiology.
Adventure is in my blood. I started traveling young and my entire family caught the bug. I am a travelholic and have lived in Europe, South Africa , bicycled the length of Africa (that continent has my heart) Central America and Europe . My sister married and Ozzy so I've had the opportunity to visit her a couple of times in Indonesia and Oz. How does coffee in San Jose, Costa Rica sound?
I come from a large family (6 kids) and we are our best friends. I dearly love my parents and speak to them regularly when they are not out of the country. I have three awesome kids and absolutely love being a single father. They are the loves of my life. Two girls (10 and 12) and a boy (6). I have a great relationship with my ex (live down the block) with no drama and we are good friends and co-parents.
I am a bit tired eating breakfast with NPR and love laughter in the morning. If I cannot make you laugh so hard you cry, our connection will not last. I am a firm believer chemistry, holding hands, sleeping in an embrace, opening the door for a woman and dancing. I grew up cowboy dancing and do it fairly regularly (Ok, I am from Wyoming ) and learned a bit of salsa while in Chile (although that needs some serious practice).
