Date a man from United States. I'm looking for a reason to get off this site. I've been single for more than a year and a half now and I'm looking for something a bit more stable. My wish list? Ideally, a women who takes care of herself and takes pride in it. Someone who's not interested in status or material possessions (unless they're for having fun of course :-)). Fun loving is a must. Absolutely, chemistry is a must. Must like seafood (see below). We all have interests and some may coincide but maybe not. But who cares, interests come and go. i have so many interests I'm sure we can find some common ground and if not we can always develop new ones.
About me: I’m more of a small town guy. Cities are OK to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.
I love seafood. Two of my favorite hobbies cater to that, fishing and diving. I catch just about anything that swims or crawls; halibut, salmon, albacore tuna, yellow tail, rockfish, abalone and lobster. I eat seafood all year, at least 5 times a week. I’m not the greatest cook but I get by. You can’t beat barbequed lobster with a good bottle of wine. But don't misunderstand, I don't go off fishing or diving everyweekend but I do like to go a few times a year. I try to get down to Baja at least once a year to a remote village 700 miles below the border where I have a trailer on the water totally off the grid. Probably a dozen and a half other trailers on the same beach owned by retirees or whanabe retirees like myself. We fish during the day and hang out in the afternoon taking turns hosting happy hours or pot lucks. Very laid back and low stress, it will grow on you.
My other main hobby is tennis which I play 2-3 times a week. I enjoy the competition and it beats the tread mill for an aerobic workout. In between, I do light weights and swim to stay in shape (justifies having that glass of wine or beer). I’m not a hard body but I like to keep trim.
There are so many things to see and do I want to retire early enough to be physically able to do it. I want to explore more of Baja, cruise the inland passage of South East Alaska (in my own boat), hang out in Costa Rico, all things that take significant blocks of time and being physically able. I’m not a good tourist, I have to do stuff, not look on.
I used to be an Engineer but now I’m a program manager for Aerojet responsible for spacecraft propulsion systems. I'm a professional and I take pride in that but unlike many others, I have a life outside of work. I work with a great bunch of folks there and some of my social activities center around that. Every year I coordinate a trip where a bunch of us from work camp go to Van Damme State Park below Mendocino where we dive for abalone and then have a big pot luck abalone feast. This year we had over fifty people attend. Thursday nights I go to Manderes in Folsom with a group of co-workers and sample the new beers.
Although I'm a pretty physical guy, I have a soft side as well. When I'm not playing, I like to read and watch movies. I enjoy music, both classic and contemporary rock. I used to go to alot of concerts and like to get back into it. I like to entertain and cook, what else, seafood.
Snuggling is big on my list, I love the physical contact, making small talk or just staring into each other's eyes. I like touchy feely :-)
Meet single man from United States. I'm pretty sure that dogs can play poker. Ok, I know dogs can play poker because I've seen a picture of same. Just because the picture was on black velvet doesn't make it a conspiracy theory.
A friend recently told me she was having difficulty deciding which preschool to enroll her child (like which was better for a 4 year old to prepare for grade school). Really?
So I suggested the same preschool that Albert Einstein went to--downside there being that she'd have to move to Germany and the child would likely fail math for the next decade.
HUMOR IS ATTRACTIVE.
So that is a quality I value in any relationship--friends or girlfriends. And my dog thinks I'm hilarious.
Fun can be most sports (and a few in particular),
travel, staying connected to friends and family.
I don't smoke and like to stay fit. Favorite food group is chocolate...of course it's a food group.
Close friends would say that "highly motivated professional handsome man" doesn't begin to cover my other dimensions.
What are you passionate about?
